CardAfrica2025 – *Blockchain to the Masses, Africa & Beyond

:globe_showing_europe_africa: CardAfrica2025 – Blockchain to the Masses, Africa & Beyond

On 27th September 2025, we had the privilege of hosting CardAfrica2025, a hybrid conference that brought together innovators, builders, and blockchain enthusiasts across Africa and the world.

:microphone: Speakers & Sessions

This year’s event featured 19 speakers from across the globe, sharing insights on:

  • Cardano Governance & dReps
  • Adoption and challenges of blockchain in Africa
  • The importance of decentralisation
  • RealFi in Africa & funding local projects
  • And our signature Heat Moment session — where tough, thought-provoking questions met brilliant, unfiltered answers you wouldn’t hear anywhere else.

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Locations & Participation

We had planned for five in-person locations but successfully held three physical gatherings in Ghana, Nigeria, and DR Congo, each hosting between 30–50 attendees.
The remaining communities in Cameroon and Togo joined us through the online session.

The conference was streamed live on X and attracted over 1,600 live viewers in real time – a powerful reminder of the global reach and excitement around Africa’s blockchain journey.

:television: Media Coverage in Ghana

A proud highlight was the Ghana edition, which received coverage from one of Ghana’s national TV stations. This recognition amplified Cardano’s presence and helped introduce blockchain to broader audiences outside the ecosystem.

:raising_hands: Community Impact

CardAfrica2025 once again served as a middle ground for collaboration, providing a platform where projects, communities, and builders could connect, spark partnerships, and begin initiatives that will continue well beyond the event.

:folded_hands: Acknowledgments

A heartfelt thank you goes to:

  • Our incredible speakers, who shared their expertise and passion.
  • The attendees, both in person and online, who made the event vibrant and engaging.

CardAfrica2025 was more than a conference — it was a movement. As we continue our journey, we remain committed to our theme “Blockchain to the Masses, Africa & Beyond”. With each step, Cardano’s role in shaping Africa’s future becomes stronger, and together with the global community, we will keep pushing blockchain adoption forward. :rocket::globe_showing_europe_africa:

As a participant in the CardAfrica2025 event held in Goma at CHIFE HOTEL on September 27th, 2025, I was truly delighted to be part of this great initiative and proud to witness Cardano’s presence in Africa.

The conference clearly demonstrated its potential as a catalyst for education, awareness, and networking around the Cardano blockchain. Its impact, especially on younger generations, is undeniable and deserves to be further amplified.

However, it is important to emphasize that the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a country of continental size. Limiting such actions to Goma alone, despite its strategic importance, could restrict the broader outreach of this movement. For a more inclusive and structural impact, future editions and educational activities should also be extended to other strategic cities such as Beni, Bunia, Kisangani, and Lubumbashi. These areas, beyond their socio-economic vitality, host potential investors and young entrepreneurs who could embrace the Cardano philosophy and integrate it into their daily projects.

At the same time, it is crucial to note that the goal should not merely be to multiply numbers for appearance’s sake, but rather to ensure the emergence of a solid core of well-trained and deeply committed individuals. It is far better to move forward with a smaller group that truly understands Cardano’s vision and philosophy than to spread efforts too thin without real assimilation of its core values.

In summary, the strategy should be built on two pillars:

  1. Geographical expansion into strategic cities across the DRC to broaden impact and diversify audiences.
  2. Qualitative consolidation of knowledge, to build a strong network of local leaders capable of carrying Cardano’s model independently and sustainably.
