Recap: Cardano Meetup #5 in Ho Chi Minh City (16/11/2024)

As announced on the Cardano Forum Post and Luma, on November 16, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM UTC+7, Cardano Meetup #5 took place in Ho Chi Minh City with approximately 20 members in attendance. The meetup was lively and full of valuable information, helping to strengthen the Cardano community in Vietnam.

Main Topics of the Meetup:

1. Sharing about Cardano Summit Dubai 2024
   Ha Nguyen kicked off the meetup by sharing my experiences and impressions from the Cardano Summit Dubai 2024. I emphasized the importance of attending international meetups to better understand the development of Cardano and explore global collaboration opportunities.
   
   

Ha also committed to organizing follow-up sessions to share the knowledge gained at the meetup with the Cardano Vietnam community.

2. Cardano Summit 2025 Budget and Major Meetups in 2025
   Based on discussions during the Cardano Summit 2025 budget proposal meeting held by the Marketing Working Group, I updated the community about upcoming plans and major meetups Cardano is expected to organize in 2025.

3. Recent highlights
Mr. Sang shared recent highlights on Cardano, including information related to Charles Hoskinson.

Mr. Sang shared updates on Midnight, the Night Paper of Midnight, and the potential benefits of early participation in Midnight.

4. How to Use Franken Address
   Mr. Sang from Vcoincheck - VCC Pool provided a detailed guide on how to use the Franken Address, a topic of great interest to the community, especially since many ADA holders couldn’t attend the previous meetup due to severe weather conditions (heavy rain and strong winds).

Interesting questions were raised and discussed, including:

• Pros and cons of Franken Address
• Does using Franken Address increase the risk of scams or hacking?
• When adding funds to the main wallet, does the secondary wallet update its balance automatically?
• What other applications are there for Franken Address?
• Does Franken Address affect the security of the Cardano wallet?
• Can multiple Franken Addresses be used for different purposes?
• If the main wallet changes, will the secondary wallet lose its connection?
• Wallet A references the balance of the main wallet; can Wallet B reference Wallet A’s balance?
• When transferring funds to a Franken Address, is the balance recorded in the secondary wallet or the main wallet?
  
  

4. Call for Delegating ADA to DRep
   I called on ADA holders to delegate voting power to DRep, enabling them to participate in key governance decisions, such as budget proposals and parameter changes.
   

   

5. Call for DRep to Join Budget Meetings with the Budget Committee
   I also encouraged DRep members to participate in upcoming online budget meetings for Cardano 2025 (in Vietnamese) and regular DRep meetings with the Budget Committee (in English) to contribute feedback and engage in discussions. 6. Announcement of Upcoming Meetups
   The community was informed about upcoming meetups, including social gatherings like the Year-End Party and Cardano Builder Meetup, as well as community meetups designed to strengthen community bonds.

7. Networking Activities and Birthday Celebration
   Networking activities were vibrant, and a special birthday celebration was held for Ms. Ngoc Giao from Whiteboard Cardano, a dedicated volunteer within the Cardano Vietnam community.
   
   
   
   
   

Closing the Meetup:
The meetup concluded with a casual lunch where members had the opportunity to socialize and share further knowledge about the Cardano ecosystem. The in-depth discussions during the meetup helped the community better understand the opportunities and challenges in the development of Cardano in Vietnam.

Although the number of participants was not large, the meetup was very dynamic and provided much value to the attendees. These small meetups help strengthen community connections and create opportunities to develop initiatives that improve Cardano. It is hoped that these small contributions will have a positive impact on the future development of Cardano.
