I am excited to share the success of the latest Cardano Ghana Developer and Tech Hubs Onboarding Workshop held at Whizzy Innovation Hub, 3rd Floor, Aseda House, Kumasi, Ghana. The event brought together developers and tech enthusiasts eager to learn about Cardano, Project Catalyst, and how to access the necessary tools and resources to innovate on the Cardano blockchain.
Workshop Overview
The workshop was led by Cardano Ghana Lead, Mohammed Mustapha Yakubu, and featured various sessions aimed at educating participants on different aspects of the Cardano ecosystem.
Session 1: Cardano 101 – Understanding Cardano, Applications, and Project Catalyst
Presenter: Mohammed Mustapha Yakubu
Participants gained insight into the history of Cardano, including its beginnings, roadmap, current status, and future prospects. The session also covered Project Catalyst, with a walkthrough of projectcatalyst.io, explaining the available funding opportunities, roles participants can take in Catalyst, corresponding rewards, and governance mechanisms on the Cardano blockchain.

Session 2: Cardano Walleting, ADA Transactions, and Staking
Presenter: Richmond Oppong
This practical, hands-on session guided participants through setting up Cardano wallets, transacting ADA tokens, staking, and safeguarding wallets. Richmond also provided step-by-step guidance on creating Catalyst accounts to enable participants to take part in Project Catalyst grant programs.

Session 3: Building on Cardano – Developer Tooling and Resources
Presenter: Nana Safo
This session was dedicated to developers, focusing on Cardano developer tools, programming languages, and dApp development on Cardano. Participants were introduced to essential tools and resources available for blockchain development.
Session 4: Opportunities for Tech Hubs in the Cardano Ecosystem
Speakers: Mohammed Mustapha Yakubu & Mina Diomande (Whizzy Innovation Hub Representative)
Mohammed Mustapha Yakubu wrapped up the workshop with a conversation with Mina Diomande, highlighting the opportunities available for tech hubs within the Cardano ecosystem. They discussed how hubs like Whizzy Innovation Hub can leverage these opportunities to scale their projects or launch new innovations.

Closing & Networking
