Cardano Ghana Governance Meetups Phase 2

Report: Cardano Governance Meetups Ghana Phase 2 (May & October 2025 Edition)

1. Event Overview

The Cardano Governance Meetups Phase 2 Ghana Edition successfully held two major events on Saturday, May 31, 2025, and Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the SANS Hotel Conference Hall respectively.

The events brought together a total of 88 participants (42 in May and 46 in October), all eager to explore blockchain governance and the Cardano ecosystem.

The meetups were hosted by Jeremiah Baani (Cardano Ambassador, Ghana) under the Cardano Africa Academy initiative and supported by the Cardano Foundation and the Center for Technology Education and Innovation Lab (CTEIL).

2. Event Structure and Sessions

The sessions provided an intensive introduction to Cardano, its governance process, and engaged participants in practical, hands-on activities on how to delegate and stake ADA to Stake Pool Operators (SPOs) and DReps respectively.

The meetups were structured into two major sessions per event:

  • Session 1: Introduction to Cardano & Intersect
Facilitated by Ambassador Benjamin Baani, this session introduced Cardano, Intersect, and the membership process. It was designed to ensure both new and returning participants had a solid grasp of the fundamentals, creating a strong foundation for the advanced topics to follow.

  • Session 2: Deep Dive into Cardano Governance & Practical Delegation
Led by Jeremiah Baani, this comprehensive session covered Cardano’s governance, including the roles of Stake Pool Operators (SPOs) and the importance of delegating ADA. A live, practical demonstration guided participants through:

These interactive and practical sessions gave participants deep, actionable insights into Cardano’s vast impact and how they can actively participate in its ecosystem.

3. Impact and Measurable Outcomes

The two meetups have generated significant and measurable impact, fulfilling their core objectives.

  • We were thrilled to enlighten our participants on the critical importance of Cardano staking and delegation. A particularly fulfilling moment came when one attendee from the first event, who had over 10,000 ADA sitting on a centralized exchange, declared his intention to transfer it back to his native wallet and delegate it following the guidance received.
  • Furthermore, the direct effect on governance participation has been remarkable. Prior to these meetups, our DRep (Cardano Africa DRep) had approximately 18,000 ADA delegated. As of today, we can proudly boast an increment in delegation to over 50,000 ADA.

4. Conclusion and Gratitude

On behalf of the entire Cardano Africa Academy initiative in Ghana, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Cardano Foundation and our dedicated Cardano Ambassadors. Their invaluable support and shared commitment to education and voting for our project under the impact pot initiative were the bedrock of this success. The Foundation’s backing and the Ambassadors’ expertise were directly responsible for empowering our community and driving tangible growth in network participation.

The events were a resounding success, successfully demystifying Cardano governance and empowering attendees to become active stakeholders. This marks a significant step forward in our ongoing educational initiatives, and we look forward to continuing this impactful work together to expand blockchain awareness and adoption in Ghana.
