Cardano Governance Meetups – Ghana

The Cardano Governance Meetups Ghana Edition took place on March 15, 2025, at the SANS Hotel Conference Hall, bringing together 60 participants eager to explore blockchain governance and the Cardano ecosystem.

The event was hosted by Jeremiah Baani (Cardano Ambassador, Ghana) under the Cardano Africa Academy initiative and supported by the Cardano Foundation and the Center for Technology Education and Innovation Lab -CTEIL. The meetup provided an intensive introduction to Cardano’s governance process and engaged participants in practical, hands-on activities to deepen their understanding of blockchain technology.

Key Sessions

The meetup was structured into two major sessions:

Session 1: In-Depth Overview of Cardano

Jeremiah Baani led an intensive session covering the following key topics:

  1. Cardano Overview – Introduction to Cardano’s mission, vision, and ecosystem.
  2. Governance Process – Explanation of Cardano’s decentralized governance model and its significance.
  3. Native Wallet Creation – A hands-on session where participants learned how to set up and use Cardano wallets.
  4. Opportunities in the Cardano Ecosystem – A discussion on available resources, career prospects, and community-driven initiatives.

Session 2: Group Brainstorming & Case Study Presentations

This interactive session lasted 30 minutes, where participants were divided into six groups. Each group was assigned a case study question related to Cardano blockchain’s potential impact in their respective fields of study (healthcare and education).

  • The groups brainstormed possible solutions and worked together to propose responses.
  • After discussions, each group selected a representative to present their responses.
  • Each group had 5 minutes to present their ideas to the audience. Best performed groups received some few ada rewards,

The engagement and enthusiasm during this session were remarkable, as participants—many of whom were new to blockchain technology—actively contributed their thoughts and explored real-world applications of Cardano.

Conclusion

The meetup was a resounding success, sparking new interest in blockchain adoption among attendees. The discussions and hands-on activities helped demystify Cardano governance, making it more accessible and practical for students and professionals in healthcare and education.

This event marks the beginning of more educational initiatives aimed at expanding blockchain awareness and adoption in Ghana.
