The Catalyst Africa Townhall recently held an engaging session focused on Cardano Governance and the role of DReps in Africa. We highlighted Cardano’s governance model and the importance of community participation. Attendees gained insights on how to delegate their ADA to a DRep or become a DRep themselves, contributing to the ecosystem’s decentralization.
The CEO of Remostart introduced their DRep initiative, explaining why ADA holders might consider delegating to them or becoming a DRep themselves. A key reminder was shared: you cannot delegate your ADA if it is stored in a centralized exchange (CEX). There are numerous DReps from Africa, including WADA and Lidonation, who are actively contributing to governance.
Following the governance discussions, we shifted our focus to the upcoming African Blockchain Championship Hackathon. This event offers a $30,000 prize pool and presents an exciting opportunity to enhance blockchain development skills, connect with key players in the ecosystem—including Avalanche, Masumi Network with Crewai, Flock.io, and Cardano—and compete at a high level.
