Cardano stack exchange proposal 2021 has reached the beta phase

Written by @adatainment of the Cardano Foundation

Thanks to so many people’s commitment, the community initiated Cardano Stack Exchange proposal has reached the third phase today. Special thanks also to all who have pushed this: @lavan_a @werkof @laplasz @gRebel-5 @benohanlon (incomplete list, comment below :arrow_heading_down:)

Phase 3 - Beta

This is by far the most important phase - we have now a live site set up on a “probationary” basis to see if people use it. It is very important to participate early. The earliest questions set the tone and topic of the site for a long time.

Furthermore, now is the time to spread the word via Twitter, blogs, and email far and wide. If the site does not get used, it will be deleted. Each site has two parts, each with its own URL:

  • cardano.stackexchange.com: (site is being set up - not live yet) This is where you ask questions, answer questions, tag questions, edit questions, and vote. The beta site starts off with a temporary “sketchy” design; its final design is chosen when the beta period ends.

  • cardano.meta.stackexchange.com: (site is being set up - not live yet) We don’t want to talk about the site on the site itself, so each site has a meta-discussion area to talk about things like what questions are appropriate, what tags to use, etc. The meta site is also accessible through the ‘meta’ link at the top of each page on the main site. This is where you can help make decisions about the site itself.

Not yet on Stack Exchange? Here’s how you can help

If you are not already a member of Stack Exchange, please create an account on stackexchange.com, fill out the profile, get the first badges, get your first reputation, visit the Cardano Stack Exchangeproposal, and then, visit Cardano Area 51 (button in the upper left corner).

What is Stack Exchange?

If for some reason you don’t know what Stack Exchange is, we would like to clarify that this has nothing to do with a crypto exchange. Stack Exchange is simply a network of question-and-answer-style websites or portals dedicated to different topics in diverse fields.

Questions, answers, and users on the Stack Exchange portals are subject to a reputation award process to rank high-quality contributions and contributors higher in result pages. You can explore the Stack Exchange portals and see their visualizations by size and use here.

Nice that is a good idea, I visited the https://area51.stackexchange.com
I like it. We need more resources available to answer Cardano community questions.

Yes, to be precise the private beta is live. Only the 514 people who committed to it can access the site during the private beta.

Usually, it takes two weeks or so until we go into public beta. :raised_hands:

Can people still commit at the proposal site?

No they can not.
