Extraordinary Effort to Learn Cardano
5 out of 25 participants came from a city 3 hours away to attend our 3-month Cardano bootcamp leading to a hackathon that required weekly Friday and Saturdays participation. From our experience, not housing them will highly lead to potential dropouts.
Hence we rented a house specifically for these 5. Made possible by ADA price influx and stretching our Catalyst budget. These 5 later on created “Mitrachain”. A dApp to transform everyday payments into verified data and create unbreakable customer relationships that utilizes @nmkr_io and @aiken_eng.

Cardano interest in Indonesia is and was always there. Indonesia never failed Cardano, we were failed by. Our closest partner, @UGMYogyakarta, choose “Space and Time” to on-chain 60.000+ of their students. Despite us reintroducing an official Cardano entity. Our access to Indonesia’s and SEA’s largest media, @kompascom was cut-off also after introducing.
Was never about tech or culture but strategy, paywall to learn on Cardano is counter productive. At that time, Cardano’s language was still hard to understand and with limited adoption or public exposure. Our approach is pay-for-all, where we provide all the education materials, our education service and time leading up to a hackathon with financial rewards. This strategy is not new, it is used by many chains to attract attention of builders.
As we speak, there is a government blockchain program, a collaboration between 16 universities in Indonesia that seeks to utilize blockchain to on-chain credentials. Cardano can still be part of this and be adopted in Indonesia. We only need right approach and the right attitude. Our pilot program, this program is a test-bed for our perceived right approach.
