Welcome to Cardano Weekly: Opportunities & Participation #6
Are you part of the Cardano ecosystem, or thinking of joining it, and wondering how you can actually take part? Developers, researchers, SPOs, DReps, creators and newcomers: there is something here for you.
Cardano Weekly is a short weekly guide to concrete ways to take part. Each edition highlights a handful of current opportunities, from research calls and creator contests to courses, governance votes and community sessions. Each one is explained simply: what it is, who it’s for, when it ends, and where to find the official source.
In this edition: a public research RFP, a creator contest, a developer course, three governance actions plus the Constitutional Amendment Portal, and open calls with the Cardano Foundation and Intersect.
Pick what fits you, and check the Key dates below if you’re short on time.
Good to know: Cardano Weekly is an independent community initiative, not published by Cardano, Intersect, the Cardano Foundation, or any other organisation. Always check the official link before you apply, join, or vote. Nothing here is financial or voting advice.
Key dates this week
- October 19: Cardano Foundation Research Exchange (13:00 UTC)
- October 21: stakePoolTargetNum Information Action deadline
- October 22: DB-Sync Technical Working Group open session (13:30 UTC)

IV. Governance Participation
1. Governance actions
There are currently three active governance actions listed on GovTool.
stakePoolTargetNum | 500 → 1,000
This Information Action asks whether Cardano should increase its stake pool target number from 500 to 1,000. The poll does not change the parameter directly; a separate parameter-change proposal would be required.
- Type: Information Action
- Deadline: October 21, 2026
- Participation: DReps, SPOs and the Constitutional Committee; SPO input is specifically requested.

Cardano Strategic Copper Reserve | ₳22M RWA Tokenisation
This treasury proposal requests ₳22 million to purchase physical copper and tokenise the asset through CuTT, aiming to demonstrate a real-world asset model on Cardano. The proposal does not guarantee a profit or recovery of the original ADA amount.
- Type: Treasury Withdrawal
- Deadline: November 16, 2026
- Voting bodies: DReps and the Constitutional Committee

AURORA | Open Infrastructure for Real Credit Markets on Cardano
AURORA proposes shared, open infrastructure to help Cardano applications discover, compare, and verify credit opportunities across compatible lending implementations. The project includes common metadata standards, a discovery engine, verification tools, open APIs, and developer resources.
- Type: Treasury Withdrawal
- Expiry date: November 20, 2026
- Voting bodies: DReps and the Constitutional Committee

2. Constitutional Amendment Portal | Review and Contribute
The Constitutional Amendment Portal (CAP) allows Cardano community members to review proposals, share feedback, raise constitutional issues, and submit their own proposals.
Current example: CAP-12 | Dijkstra-Era Parameters
CAP-12 proposes constitutional changes related to Dijkstra-era parameters. Its next revision, addressing remaining review comments, was still pending in Intersect’s October 17 update.
- Who: Cardano community members
- Participation: Review proposals, comment, reply to others, submit a proposal or issue statement, and join review calls
- Access: A Cardano wallet is required, but it does not need to hold ADA
