Cardano will be thousands of times more energy efficient than Bitcoin

Hi everyone,

Here is a fun video discussing the environmental impacts of POW vs PoS.

Thanks,
Philippe

I am glad you have decided to make a video like this, there is no reason for anyone to turn a blind eye to the energy involved in mining, keep it up man!

Awesome video Philippe and I wholeheartedly agree with your explanation and line of thinking.
After I got to know about that RockPi project it hit me…that financial stacks could be run off a tiny device, using as little as 10Watts. It’s truly revolutionary in many ways. Looking forward to their workshop. :fire:

Thanks Katsumoto. Yes, it’s truly incredible. Can’t wait to see it in person.

I agree. It’s a serious issue. Thanks for the support.

People, let’s start a petition against bitcoin due to it’s contribution to climate change. There is no issue more important than the existential threat climate change poses to our species!

People need to be aware of this information. Also, such a petition would coincide nicely with the Shelly release.

I bet the xrp community would be all over this as well.

thank you.

I don’t think Bitcoin is going anywhere.

You’re probably right.

I think the species is going away.

Cardano is a sandcastle and there’s a Tsunami coming.

I am hoping it goes to $10k

Makes me angry when people try to justify the huge energy demands of POW by saying it doesn’t matter because it’s mostly renewable energy being used.

That renewable energy is meant to be used so we don’t have to burn fossil fuels. It’s complete ignorance and greed talking. The amount of energy POW consumes is vast and totally unsustainable, it shouldn’t be happening! Maximilists completely play it down or don’t mention it at all… it’s like it’s one big dirty secret. The Maximilists have even tried saying that there’s no difference in energy consumption between POW and POS. Believe me I wouldn’t be supporting this project if that were true.

Well done Phillipe for highlighting this :clap:t2:

Let me ask a simple question here. Has the POS mining function already been available for common ADA holders like me? If not, sorry to say the above video is just a little bit too hurry in getting online.

PoS isn’t live yet. Coming soon.

Maybe have an art contest on similar graphics as Miner shows? I think it is a great argument to drive home and not much does that better than an image

This is very cool.
