Opening of Basic Blockchain Course for University Lecturers

Today, July 16, 2024, the University Blockchain Alliance (UBA) along with Cardano2vn officially launched the Basic Blockchain Course for lecturers from universities within the UBA Blockchain Alliance. The opening ceremony took place at the University of Transport and Communications, attracting the participation of lecturers from various universities:

  • University of Transport and Communications
  • Phuong Dong Private University
  • East Asia University of Technology (EAUT)
  • Nguyen Trai University
  • University of Economics - Technology for Industries (UNETI)
  • Hanoi University of Industry
  • Vietnam Women’s Academy

Today, on July 18, 2024, the second session of the Blockchain Course for university lecturers was conducted with the participation of Nguyen Van Hieu from Cardano2vn. The session focused on the following important topics:

  • Hash Functions (including a demo)
  • Digital Signatures
  • Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance
  • Proof of Stake and Proof of Work (including demos)
  • Other approaches to consensus

During the session, the lecturers gained an understanding of the following key concepts:

  • How Blockchain utilizes various types of hash functions
  • The role and usage of digital signatures
  • Common consensus mechanisms such as Proof of Work (PoW), Proof of Stake (PoS), and Ouroboros-dPoS

Today, on July 20, 2024, Cardano2vn continued to share the third session of the Basic Blockchain course for university lecturers. In this session, Mr. Cao Xuan Truong from Cardano2vn presented Module 2, which covered advanced blockchain concepts.

Module 2: Advanced Blockchain Concepts

1. Transaction Models

  • Different transaction models in blockchain, their operations, and the differences between them.

2. Chain Features

  • Key features of the blockchain, including scalability, security, and transparency.

3. Double-spending Attack

  • Understanding double-spending attacks, how they work, and preventive measures to ensure the integrity of the blockchain.

4. Block Rewards and Transaction Fees

  • Concepts of block rewards and transaction fees, their role in incentivizing miners, and maintaining the blockchain network.

Today, August 1, 2024, Cardano2vn continued with the eighth session of the Basic Blockchain Course (CBCA) for university lecturers. In this session, the lecturers and participants engaged in hands-on practice with the Cardano Blockchain using the command-line interface (cardano-cli).

During this session, participants worked through various practical scenarios to gain a deeper understanding of the Cardano Blockchain, including:

  • Restoring a Wallet from 24 Words: Learning how to restore a wallet and understand related components such as private keys, public keys, payment addresses, and stake addresses.
  • Creating Sub-keys and Sub-wallet Addresses: Exploring how to create sub-keys and sub-wallet addresses for effective asset management.
  • Creating ADA Transactions: Practicing the creation of ADA transactions to better understand the UTxO model.
  • Creating Tokens and NFTs: Learning how to create tokens using simple policies like native scripts, as well as creating and transferring NFTs.

Ninth Session of the Basic Blockchain Course (CBCA) for University Lecturers

Today, on August 3, 2024, Cardano2vn continued the ninth session of the Basic Blockchain Course (CBCA) for university lecturers. In this session, the lecturers were guided and practiced creating tokens using simple policies such as native scripts with the API tool.

Session Content

  • Creating Tokens with Native Scripts: The lecturers practiced creating tokens using simple native scripts through cardano-cli. This helped them understand the mechanism of creating and managing tokens on the Cardano blockchain.
  • Using API to Create Tokens: Cardano2vn shared how developers commonly use APIs to design dApps and perform complex transactions. The lecturers were guided on how to create transactions with multiple outputs and create tokens through the API, a popular and effective method in blockchain application development.

After 9 sessions over 3 weeks in July 2024, we, UBA and Cardano2vn, successfully organized the Basic Blockchain Course (CBCA) for university lecturers. During this course, the lecturers gained an understanding of what blockchain is, how it operates, and the technologies it utilizes, such as digital signatures, distributed ledgers, peer-to-peer networks, and more.

Course Content

The course focused on the Cardano blockchain platform, an academically developed blockchain, making it highly suitable for university teaching and training. Throughout the course, the lecturers had the opportunity to interact with the Cardano blockchain via Cardano-cli and browser API, allowing them to gain deeper insights into its operations and practical applications.
