CEXPLORER Blog: A Deep Dive into Midgard vs Ethereum Rollups

For the past year, we’ve been hearing a lot about Layer 2 solutions on Cardano, with Midgard often coming up. Recently, the CEXPLORER Team released an extensive blog that takes a deep dive into Midgard, comparing it to Ethereum Rollups. The article explores the architecture, decentralization, sequencing, and conflict resolution of these two models, offering a fresh take on how Midgard challenges assumptions around Ethereum Rollups.

They highlight key differences in transaction models and sequencing, explaining how Midgard’s UTxO model simplifies conflict resolution and boosts scalability. With a focus on high parallelism and deterministic logic, Midgard provides a more decentralized and open framework compared to Ethereum Rollups, which often depend on centralized sequencers, as noted by the author. Intersect MBO: Development Update #57

Intersect MBO recently released #57 of the Intersect Development Update. This update highlights several key points, including progress on committee elections with 119 candidates registered and voting set to begin on April 16. The Cardano Budget process is also heating up, with over 100 proposals already live on GovTool, and DReps can now signal support directly. Additionally, there’s news on governance tooling, April’s budget workshops, and new input from the Governance Working Group. For all the details, check out the full update here.

Cardano Foundation Blog: Understanding Cardano’s Net Change Limit

Many of you have heard about the term Net Change Limit, as there has been lots of debate surrounding this topic. The Cardano Foundation recently released a blog titled “Understanding Cardano’s Net Change Limit: Balancing Ecosystem Growth and Monetary Stability.

The blog aims to unpack what the NCL actually is, a constitutional parameter that limits how much ada can be withdrawn from the treasury over a given time period, and why it matters. It digs into how treasury withdrawals impact ada’s price, compares Cardano’s model with others like Polkadot, Bitcoin, and Ethereum, and presents three possible NCL strategies.

Whether you’re a voter, builder, or just curious, it’s worth a read to understand the trade-offs between ecosystem growth and long-term monetary stability.

IOG Blog: Ouroboros Peras, Accelerating Transaction Settlement on Cardano

IOG recently released a blog titled Ouroboros Peras: accelerating transaction settlement on Cardano. According to the author, Peras is a proposed evolution of the Ouroboros Praos protocol, designed to speed up how quickly transactions settle on Cardano. The post explains how a new SPO voting mechanism could help reduce wait times, lower the risk of rollbacks, and improve interoperability with partner chains. If you’re interested in how this might shape future use cases and improve user experience, you can read the full blog here.
