Martin Lang: Update on Calidus Pool Key

Martin Lang from ATADA Pool recently shared an update on the Calidus Pool-Key edition. The new script, 15_calidusPoolKey.sh, simplifies pool-key creation and registration. For CLI users, it provides a way to generate and register a pool-key without needing to interact with the VRF-Secret-Key. For hardware wallet users, it enables signing and verification via the CIP8/30 messageSign protocol, ensuring compatibility with Stakepool Cold Keys. After initial registration, daily services can be accessed using the Calidus Key without touching the Cold-Key or VRF Secret-Key. New features include pool-id querying and text-message signing. Calidus Pool Key is now fully supported on CardanoKoios and CNTools 13.4.0. Typhon Wallet now supports signing via light wallet, and according to Martin, Eternl’s beta release will soon support it as well. Watch the demo here.

Highlighting Several Recent Community Meetups:

Mohammed Mustapha Yakubu recently shared a recap of his experience speaking at the Crypto & Mini Importation Training organized by IM Akademy. Held on February 22 at the Savana Signatures Conference Room in Tamale, the event attracted entrepreneurs eager to explore opportunities in e-commerce and blockchain. During his session, Mohammed shared his personal crypto journey and introduced participants to the world of crypto and blockchain. He encouraged attendees to use networking opportunities and blockchain education to build real-world solutions, reflecting on his own growth in the space. According to Mohammed’s forum post, the event was a success, and Mohammed is hopeful that many will dive deeper into blockchain. Read the full post here.

In addition, several other Cardano Global meetups have taken place recently. On March 20, 2025, the Cardano Brisbane Meetup took place, organized by Pete Bui. During the event, Peter covered everything from governance to DeFi opportunities in the space. You can read the recap here. Ha Nguyen hosted an offline meetup in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, covering updates on the Cardano ecosystem, governance, and the latest tech trends. You can check out the X post here. Additionally, the Korea-Japan Collaboration Meetup featured Oscar West, Taichi-san, and Seira-san, where they discussed various developments in the respective communities and the Cardano ecosystem in general. The meetup served as a starting point for potential regular East Asia collaboration meetups, with plans to continue fostering cooperation between the Korean and Japanese communities. Cexplorer Blog: Scalability is the missing ingredient for Cardano’s success

Cexplorer’s recent blog emphasizes the critical role of scalability in Cardano’s continued growth, suggesting that this should be a key area for focused development. They observe user demand for efficient transactions alongside decentralization, something that could be reasoned as being part of the evolving landscape. The blog encourages Cardano to strategically enhance its network to capture emerging opportunities, particularly in sectors like RWAs, ensuring its strong foundational principles are matched with high performance. It underscores the potential for Cardano to lead in the next phase of blockchain adoption by balancing its robust decentralization with optimized scalability. For the full blog, read here.

EMURGO Blog: Decentralized Blockchain Governance

EMURGO’s March 27 blog explores decentralized blockchain governance, emphasizing its role in ensuring fair decision-making and reducing centralization risks. It highlights key components like on-chain voting, proposal boards, and user dashboards, crucial for community participation. The blog also covers Cardano’s governance model, including DReps, GovTool, and the self-funding Treasury. It stresses the need for transparent communication, accessible educational resources, and a well-structured treasury—key elements discussed in the blog that contribute to effective governance.
