Linda: Bitcoin Coming to Cardano Explained

Recently, community member Linda dropped another deep dive video—this time on a groundbreaking connection between Bitcoin and Cardano.

Using zero-knowledge cryptography, Bitcoin can now interact with Cardano’s ecosystem without leaving its native chain and without trusting a custodian. Linda explains how this removes the need for risky platforms like Celsius, using smart contracts that verify ZK proofs and nothing else—keeping your BTC secure and under your control.

It’s not just a tech breakthrough. It’s a new chapter for decentralized finance. Watch the full video here

Builderfest #2 Asia, Danang Vietnam

On April 24–25, 2025, BuilderFest #2, Asia took place in Danang, Vietnam. This two-day event brought together developers and Cardano enthusiasts from around the world to connect, collaborate, and share ideas on building within the Cardano ecosystem.

The agenda covered a wide range of sessions and discussions—you can check it out here: https://buidlerfest.github.io/agenda/

Attendees captured the energy of the event through photos and videos shared across X and other platforms. For a glimpse into the experience, explore the impressions on X, here.

A series of Community Roundtable Talks

Last week we hosted three Roundtable Talks (RTTs), each covering a different topic relevant to the ongoing evolution of Cardano. Here’s a quick overview for those who want to catch up or revisit the highlights:

April 15 – RTT #11: Learnings from the Constitutional Committees

We sat down with representatives from all seven Interim Constitutional Committees: Nicolas Cerny, Seira Yun, Encrypt2, Jenny Choi, Oscar West, Bitcows, and @cryptstitution.

With their (interim) terms ending on September 1, 2025, and community voting for the first fully elected Constitutional Committee beginning in June, this session focused on reflection. What worked? What didn’t? How did expectations hold up in practice? And what advice would current members offer to anyone thinking about stepping into the role next? Lots of thoughtful, candid insights were shared.

April 22 – RTT #12: Cardano’s Roadmap – A Tier List Follow-Up

This session followed the original March 27 Tier List discussion, which featured Giorgio Zinetti, Sebastien Guillemot, and Matthias Benkort.

For the follow-up, we invited new voices from across the community to add fresh perspectives and nuance to the conversation around Cardano’s development priorities.

Panelists included: Giorgio Zinetti, Philip DiSarro, Fergie Miller, Kevin Hammond, Michele Harmonic, and Arnaud Bailly. The session also highlighted a recurring developer pain point, namely, the ongoing need for better tooling across the developer ecosystem.

April 23 – RTT #13: Understanding Ecosystem Stablecoin Liquidity

As debate continues around whether treasury funds should support liquidity for native stablecoins, this roundtable aimed to take a closer look.

The discussion was framed around Governance Action Proposal 223, written to address this issue directly. Panelists included: Giorgio Zinetti, Elder Millennial and Marco (authors of the proposal), Vineeth Bhuvanagiri, James Meidinger (BlockJock), and Brandon Chukwuka.

Key takeaways included: the fundamentals of stablecoins, how issuers generate revenue, the role of treasury-backed liquidity, and more. Be sure to check them out.

Lidonation Blog: Decentralized Storage

Many of you have heard of decentralized storage solutions like IPFS.
Well… to dive deeper into this, Lido Nation’s Stephanie King has put together an insightful blog, sharing her thoughts on why it matters and how it works—her perspective on this game-changing technology is definitely worth a read.

Key Takeaways:
Stephanie explains how centralized cloud services dominate storage today, but they come with a variety of risks—censorship, data loss, and the harsh reality that we don’t really own our data. She argues that IPFS is the answer, offering a decentralized, resilient system where data is stored in chunks across multiple nodes, making it independent of any one location. This is already in play within Cardano—from NFTs to Project Catalyst—helping build a more open, durable, and censorship-resistant web for the future. EMURGO Blog: Navigating How to Vote for Cardano Budget Proposals

Recently, EMURGO released a new blog titled Navigating How to Vote for Cardano Budget Proposals. The blog walks DReps and the Cardano community through the complexities of the governance process, especially with the 477M ADA requested in proposals and the 350M ADA cap on withdrawals.

EMURGO shares a few helpful tips for saving time and avoiding unnecessary overlap. For example, DReps can choose between similar proposals, like IOG and Intersect TSC Core Budget proposals, to reduce duplication. They also suggest considering the consolidated Growth & Marketing Committee (GMC) proposal vs. individual marketing proposals to avoid double-spending.

Intersect MBO: Development Update #59

Intersect MBO recently released #59 of the Intersect Development Update. In this update, the MBO covers several important developments: the upcoming 3-day Budget Reconciliation Workshop Series for DReps, from April 26-28, designed to align priorities and shape the future of Cardano’s budget process. It also highlights the successful passing of the Net Change Limit governance action, ensuring financial transparency and setting a ceiling on Treasury withdrawals. Additionally, the update features Intersect’s $10M proposal to support Cardano governance through 2025, and the official launch of the committee elections, with voting beginning on April 16. For further details on these points, check out the full update here.

A Spotlight on Stake Pools: CanadaStakes [CAN1]

The Cardano Foundation recently released a Spotlight on stake pool CAN1, operated by SPO Jonny, who shares insights into running a bare-metal pool in Ottawa, Canada, and developing ADAView—a user-friendly tool aimed at onboarding newcomers to Cardano. In the spotlight, Jonny explains how CAN1’s mission is centered around providing decentralization to the Cardano network through bare-metal hosting, while also building a community presence in Ottawa. He also shares the pool’s history, starting with a public testnet stake pool in early 2021, growing to a stable position with 6M delegation today. With ADAView, CAN1 is simplifying the onboarding process by offering a familiar “online banking” style view of Cardano wallets. Jonny also highlights the impact of Cardano Foundation delegations in helping the pool attract delegators and grow, while further developing community tools and contributing to the network’s decentralization.
