Forum Etiquette

This forum is a place for everyone to put forward their point-of-view and for us to learn/evolve with these different opinions. Off late, there has been a lot of unpleasantness in the forum, and we need to learn to respect everyone who is a part of this community.

We need more ideas, different perspectives from people with diverse backgrounds and learn to take disagreements in stride. Remember, it’s okay to disagree!

It would be good to see a six or twenty-four hours cooling period for people who are being impolite. Taking a little time off would go a long way in keeping a civilised forum.

Couldn’t agree with you more. We want to make sure this community is open and welcoming, without compromising engaging conversations.

Note that we do “suspend” users who violate any of our forum rules, which includes disrespect towards others and these users will be made aware of their violations and suspension.

I agree with you. I am sorry i was to harsh. But i think he/they deserve it! Same time, don’t forget it’s crypto space in 2018 not 19th century french salon… if one has the right to stand for dangerous things, why shouldn’t the reply be proportional? :zipper_mouth_face:

I will certainly work harder at being more polite. And just so people are aware…

There is one person on this forum, Adalove, who just has to say something about everything and drag it on and on forever. Then create new threads on the same subject and drag those out too. This is to the point where the forum becomes unreadable and other peoples opinions get lost in the flak. Being an overbearing, interrupting, condescending, know-it-all troll is just as rude as simply calling someone a rude name. I just call it like I see it and get to the point. Must be my career military instincts kicking in, but I can be polite for so long, then I am just going to call the duck a duck and if they don’t like it too bad.

Edit: OK, I wil do my 24 hour cooling off period now. Unless someone asks for help or summons me… or boots me off the forum.

Wonder if there’s a way to decentralise the governance of this forum  (just kidding…dont want to get suspended :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)
