Gimbalab's Indo UNU Education Culmination - [Effort by Gimbalabs Indo x UNU x DevWeb3Jogja supported by HackQuest]

Celebrating UNU Student’s Achievements

3-month bootcamp culminating to a hackathon wrapped up with these following 2 events. One being “Graduation Day” with UNU’s Dean and HOD present. While the other being “Hackathon Winners City Exhibition”. Only made possible by ADA price influx from Catalyst where we stretched our KPI’s and budget beyond what we were funded for.

“Graduation Day” was as like an official university graduation, which was held at UNU’s secondary auditorium. An internal campus celebration with other student faculties present, with intent to ignite their interest into Web3 and Cardano. To view a recap of the graduation you can view here: https://youtu.be/LMZhiGgrewY

During this event the top 5 projects were given their rewards, where those projects are as follows (in no particular order);

  1. TrustBridge - Instant WhatsApp crypto remittance for Indonesian migrant workers, powered by Cardano
  2. MitraChain - Transform everyday payments into verified data and unbreakable customer relationships, giving local merchants the tools to compete and thrive in the digital economy
  3. PetLog - Web3-based decentralized biodata system for pets, built to store and verify lineage, vaccination, and health records on-chain
  4. dTick - Decentralized ticketing platform tackling ticket fraud and scalping using the Cardano blockchain
  5. DeDiary - Web3-powered journaling dApp that combines AI + blockchain to help individuals track their mental wellness, own their emotional data, and contribute to global well-being if they choose

All above project’s details are available on @HackQuest_ platform here: https://www.hackquest.io/hackathons/Building-Campus-Web3-Literacy-Through-Cardano.

Cardano Going City Wide

“Hackathon Winners City Exhibition” was held at VRTX Creative Compound Space to showcase hackathon winners to the general public. We had a secondary goal regarding the location choice, for the VRTX owner is a business person that shares interest in blockchain. They own multiple hotels, restaurants and malls. Our goal was to showcase these apps that were built and to entice discussions.

To make this event even more attractive we invited speakers such as @andamio_teams founder, @jamesdunseith and (a @solana project) called @ObeliskProtocol also with their founder, @Belacosaursol. The goal of C3ETH by doing this is to showcase the lively chain agnostic Web3 community in Indonesia while at the same time foster potential cross-chain collaborations.

“Hackathon Winners City Exhibition” also collaborated with local influencers with the goal to achieve maximum exposure to the general public as per available budget. We choose the following accounts;

Choice was based on their consistency being used as a platform to inform on various events. Not the most ideal publication partners but the most cost effective. You can view the reach of these accounts through their posts here;

In total there were 100+ registrations which can be viewed at this link: https://luma.com/uklewnxlfor with attendance intentionally limited to only 50 participants though 97 individuals expressed their intent to participate. Again this is due to the available budget. What we have achieved here is merely a spark. It would need further efforts to ensure the spark can develop into a sustaining program.

This wraps up @gimbalabs Indonesia education of module 307 and 401, where in the latter, as per module intent our goal was acheived, which is Andamio introduction. Is not the end, we still have funds from this proposal to extend our KPI, budget and reach. Expect more from us.

Thank you for the kinds words. Have been always looking to collaborate with the African community through Merci but things have not yet clicked as plan. Hopefully soon and likewise to you, keep up the good work in Africa.

You’re very welcome, and thank you as well.
We would be truly delighted to welcome this collaboration, which could also bring opportunities like the ones you’re presenting to Africa.
I hope that through Mercy we will benefit from it, and particularly, the Democratic Republic of Congo is very ready and eager to engage in this.
