I was hard on bitcoin and blockchain development when I heard about this platform. I’m currently the CEO and co-founder of Genix Group. A Cape Town based corporate innovation consultancy.
One thing is for sure, as the global discussions around blockchain technology continue to grow; Africa will be part of it.

Stephan, I have friends from SA but non of them knows about Blockchain or Cardano.
What is the current sentiment there on the ground when it comes to Blockchain and in particular, Cardano!

By country, the top five nations currently googling Bitcoin are Nigeria, South Africa, Austria, Switzerland and Ghana, Bitcoin yeah. Blockchain or Cardano not so mutch.
Cryptocurrency is not currently regulated in South Africa. I think the regulation which will be implemented in South Africa later this year will not be too intrusive and regulation will be relatively open, I don’t see regulators trying to stifle innovation.
On the other hand, the Western Cape Government is driving innovation and positioning the province as a global technology hub. their focus is on developing the future economy and in order to do that, they need to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution and explore how technologies like Cardano can help them drive service delivery and economic growth.
