How did the thief steal my ADA like this?I'm curious about ADA scams

I’m curious about ADA scams. How did the thief steal my ADA like this? He impersonated a moderator, and the bedrock group hid it from the chatgroup because they are friends with the scammer. Now the bedrock group has made the chatgroup private and still has this scammer as a friend. The scammer hasn’t changed their bedrock operator profile either - they still socialize in the group with the scammer. https://www.bedrockstaking.com/

This ADA staking group hacked the ADA in my wallet as a new member, and when I lectured them, they thanked the scammer and sided with the thief in their telegram group. When I protest to get my money back, they just say okay, they will return it, and when I give them my wallet address, they refuse to return my stolen ADA.
Does anyone know how theif danced around my ADA?

I have never heard of “Bedrock Staking” before. But their X account (https://xcancel.com/BedrockStaking) looks legitimate and they have been active since March 2021 (https://adastat.net/pools/b046bd7ea0e09f16dc063c9ca5402d930346da176ce74d799fc98169). Moreover, they seem to be aware what is going on in Cardano and have, e.g., already voted on the upcoming protocol upgrade. All that are things I would not expect from a scam operation.

They have links to Telegram and Discord at the bottom of their website:

That you were blocked from the Telegram might have to do with your accusations?
(Previously thought that those links were not working, but that was a me problem.)

From all the material you provided, I cannot tell if those scammers were really in that group or if they were just impersonating other people who were in it. I strongly suspect the latter, you were just falling for an impersonator, and the person in the group – who happens to just have the same logo and display name that were just copied by the scammer – is completely innocent.

The long conversation that you screenshotted (if I understood it correctly with that @Marty_ergopad account) is pretty surely a scammer. It is a complete lie and utter bullshit that your wallet app shows 0 because the ADA are staked. That’s not how Cardano works.

From the history of your wallet (https://adastat.net/accounts/50c838f8be380a9776de1740aaedbc72cd14d6e5c104f83f058967cd), how that happened is that you either just sent the ADA to the scammers (because they wrongly told you that’s how staking works) or gave them your seed phrase. The conversation from 6th December is, unfortunately, not among your screenshots, so we can’t tell how exactly they got you. But your ADA are gone since that transaction on 6th December and chances are slim to get them back.

The best I could tell, the OP was lured into clicking on a malicious link which led to the attacker gaining control of the wallet. I attempted to find out who the attacker could be but didn’t come up with anything solid based on the information that was provided. It’s understandable that it’s frustrating to lose ADA to these types of attacks but when the OP starts levying accusations at the pool operator and others in the group at random, they had to be removed.
