Import a 21-word Yoroi paper wallet in 2026

Hi,

I have a Yoroi paper wallet secured with a 21-word recovery phrase. I’m trying to move the funds to a regular wallet so I can send them to an exchange, but I’m stuck.

Current Yoroi versions no longer have the “Transfer from paper wallet” / “Legacy Yoroi paper wallet” option that used to exist for this format.
Yoroi has since become SecondFi, which was hacked in June 2026 and has now been permanently shut down by EMURGO. I don’t want to enter my phrase there even if the option still existed.
I tried both Eternl and Lace, but neither offers an import option for a 21-word phrase — only 15 or 24 words are supported.

Has anyone successfully migrated a 21-word paper wallet recently or knows where to get this done??

I found a few older closed threads with the same issue but no working solution posted. Any pointers appreciated!

Last time this came up, there was no answer: https://forum.cardano.org/t/21-word-seed-phrase-recovery/151158 None of the three wallet apps that can still do Byron wallets at all offers 21 words.

Second to last time this came up, Yoroi reinstated the claim functionality before anybody investigated how it could be done without them: https://forum.cardano.org/t/restore-21-word-phrase-paper-yoroi-wallet/126353

I wouldn’t bet on Yoroi/SecondFi offering something now that they have much more massive problems to deal with, but you could try to ask their support.

Or you could tinker with command-line tools and/or Cardano libraries to try to solve it yourself.
