Written interviews with NFT projects on the Cardano blockchain

This week’s guest on the Cardano NFT Column is a project which is minting NFTs to raise funds for humanitarian aid and help environmental impact programs related to forestry issues: Token MITHR.

The previous guest was a project creating a community centered around the practice of meditation called the Holistic Network Nation.

This initiative is a point of reference for NFTs on Cardano and every week or two we will invite someone to answer some questions and give us an update directly from within the Cardano community.

Hey, glad to have you here. Please introduce your team, where are you from, what are your backgrounds?

Thank you very much for the space, my name is Ulises Barreiro, CEO of Token MITHR, and those responsible for the NFTs space are Dominique Gromez (anthropologist), Daniel Rodriguez (programmer), Maximo Rodrigue (DeFi specialist), Andres Posada Castro (programmer), Sebastian Labi (Illustrator), Juan Interior (Plastic Artist) and Claudia Vogel (Plastic artist).

Each one participates in different tasks in the assembly of the NFTs collections, and the one who contributes the Gender perspective, and the final responsibility for the edition of our NFTs, is the anthropologist Dominique Gromez.

In my case, I am a writer and historian, on the one hand, and I work in traditional Finance consulting, and since two years ago I started to work in Decentralized Finance consulting as well.

We also work with other collectives of NFT creators such as Umbriel CNFT, which creates a series of special NFTs for Token MITHR to mint collections that always aim to help forestry or social impact measures for humanitarian purposes.

What is Token MITHR and why have you chosen Cardano?

The Token MITHR project is a broad project in interactions that aims to take care of the natural terrestrial ecosystem. From the beginning we chose Cardano, because the purpose of the people around Cardano, that is to say its community, is to have a more harmonious vision of our actions with respect to the care of the environment and the care of the neighbor.

In general, most of the projects that we develop, we do within the laws of the game of capitalism, but with measures of environmental impact and social impact. Cardano, adds technology, academic community, and fundamentally people with good hearts.

How are you utilizing NFT technology and what NFTs have you already minted? What is their purpose?

The NFT technology is easy to use, you don’t need to be a programmer to create and sell them. That’s great, since it allows many humans to make, create, upload, and sell NFTs. In the case of our team we sell them through the jpg.store site.

The purpose of our 11 existing collections at the moment are to raise funds for humanitarian aid (Congo, Sierra Leone, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina and Mexico), and in other cases to help environmental impact programs related to forestry issues (Argentina, Venezuela and Mexico).

We have already created about 570 NFTs, and we only have about 120 for sale, since the rest already have owners, that is very good, since there are many collections of NFTs that create 2000 to 4000 NFTs, but finally they are not sold, so that is not good for their creators or for the community. As I was saying, the purpose is always aimed at 80% of what we call Corporate Social Responsibility, within the field of finance, and the remaining 20% is to finance our Token MITHR project, where among several issues Token MITHR volunteers receive NFTs from us as a gift.

What does the future hold for Mithrandir? Where do you envision your project in the next few years?

We imagine Token MITHR working in more than 200 countries on this planet, with different volunteer corps, all helping by buying and selling NFTs, on the one hand to raise funds for environmental and social impact projects in those 200 countries.

On the other hand, our token will also serve to organize these actions to care for the earth’s ecosystem, for example every time someone plants a tree from the coming months, they can receive a MITHr token as a gift if they want, and these can be sold or bought in Minswap.

In short, we also want to create a token that strengthens the Cardano Network and a token that has real impact use in the finance of environmental care, since at the moment there are many projects, but none is of mass use.

Great contribution. Any closing thoughts? Where can people stay in touch?

We invite the whole Cardano community to help us to give visibility to our project, because in the end we all win if we manage to maintain a healthy and wholesome environment.

If you want to contact us you can do it through our website or our Twitter account. If you like the NFTs, our Twitter account very often features NFT raffles for our active followers.

On behalf of all the volunteers who are part of Token MITHR, we tell you that we are very happy to be part of the Cardano community. Thank you very much Patryk, for giving us this space to make our project known.
