[Project Share] DomuLabs × Cardano | opt-in ADA donations to fund environmental NGOs

TL;DR: We’re building an open, modular controller for aquariums/terrariums. It has a Base Mode (free, no blockchain cost) and an opt-in Donation Mode where eligible device events trigger an on-chain ADA split to NGOs (90%) and the project (10%). Looking for feedback, early users, and NGO partners.

What it is
DomuLabs monitors and automates environments (water temp, lighting, oxygen, etc.). The Cardano module lets any user optionally support environmental causes without paywalls.

How it works (Donation Mode)

  • User chooses a monthly tier: 5 / 10 / 30 ADA (or opt-out = 0).

  • When the device completes eligible routines, a contract executes an ADA split (90/10) to selected NGO(s) and the project treasury.

  • Users see impact badges and metrics (e.g., trees supported, litres preserved) in-app; there’s also a public dashboard for transparency.

  • The donation smart contract will be open-source.

Why Cardano
Low fees, strong community around real-world impact, and transparent, auditable flows.

Status & what I’m asking

  • Preparing a Fund14 proposal and refining scope.

  • Seeking: (1) feedback on the approach and risks, (2) NGO introductions/partners, (3) beta users with aquariums/terrariums to pilot.

Questions to the community

  1. Any red flags in the donation flow?

  2. Best practices for NGO selection and reporting on-chain impact?

  3. Tips for Fund14 framing (category/risks/milestones)?
