(Public) August 2026: 2027 Global Event Strategy and the Constitutional Committee Vote

Hello Cardano Ambassador Community! :sports_medal:

August 2026 calls brought the CF Events & Marketing team to preview the 2027 global event strategy, and turned urgent on the Constitutional Committee 2026 vote (deadline: September 1). Both sessions merged below.

:spiral_calendar: Agenda

  • 2027 Global Event Strategy: Laura Mattiucci & Elis Moormaa previewed an 11-event plan with a treasury request, seeking Ambassador feedback before the proposal goes live.
  • Constitutional Committee Vote (urgent): Nicolas Cerny walked through the governance action; Vote ends on September 1.
  • Governance Tooling: CIP-0175 (hot credentials for SPOs) and wallet health signals to lift participation.
  • Ambassador Bounties & On-Site Support: pilot learnings from Rare Evo and Blockchain Rio.

:trophy: Key Takeaways

1. 2027 Unified Global Event Strategy

Laura Mattiucci (CF Events & Marketing) opened both sessions with early plans for Cardano’s unified 2027 event strategy. The concept replaces the separate IOG, CF, and Emurgo booths with a single Cardano-branded booth alongside other layer-one chains, sharing infrastructure to raise visibility. A 108 m² prototype built for Token 2049 (Singapore, October) includes a builder stage and meeting tables.

Past impact: 27 sponsored events, 56 workshops, 79 unique builders, ~100 media pieces (WSJ, Fortune) across 2025-2026, plus 100k+ developers engaged, a 222% rise in Academy signups, and 50 government / 143 enterprise touchpoints.

2. Constitutional Committee Vote: Act Before September 1

:alarm_clock: Urgent. The governance action to renew the Constitutional Committee shows DReps at 52% and SPOs at 22% approval. Failing it threatens to disable essential governance functions. Nicolas Cerny explained the process in the morning call.

What we’re asking:

  • Mobilize: share on social media, remind SPOs and DReps to vote before September 1.
  • Check participation: verify your SPO or delegated DRep has voted; nudge if not.
  • Awareness over pressure: several Ambassadors noted “not voting is also voting,” and low turnout (not rejection) is the real risk. Ambassadors are the trusted voices to motivate the community.

3. Governance Tooling: CIP-0175 and Wallet Health

To cut voting friction, CIP-0175 (Calidus on-chain hot credentials for SPOs) lets operators vote without pulling the cold key. Tommy Kammerer pointed to the Adder guide. Robert Phair shared a civics letter and the CIP-0175 README.

On participation tooling, Chris STR8 and Nicolas Cerny discussed a wallet “health light”: green (SPO/DRep recently active), yellow (inactive a while), red (retired DRep), plus a status explainer so delegators see at a glance if their DRep is idle or pool oversaturated. Wallets should inform, not spam vote notifications.
