(Public) May 2026: Ambassador Tooling Live, Payment Infrastructure, and Community Core Offerings

Hello Cardano Ambassadors! :sports_medal:

Our May 2026 Monthly Call was an good demonstration of ecosystem collaboration, bringing together foundational tooling, enterprise-grade payment infrastructure, and a transparent breakdown of community operations. Whether you missed the session or need to grab a link, this recap provides a quick overview of the progress moving the program forward.

:spiral_calendar: Agenda at a Glance

  • Welcome to New Joiners: Greeting the latest ambassadors selected by the peer review committee.

  • Ambassador Tooling MVP: Bringing reputation tracking and community proposal logs directly on-chain.

  • The Flip App Keynote: Stripping away crypto clutter to build a MiCA-compliant, phone-number-based payment ecosystem.

  • Community Team Services Matrix: A clear breakdown of platforms, tools, and live formats managed by the Community Team.

:trophy: Key Takeaways & Discussion Highlights

1. Welcoming Our New Ambassadors

The peer-led Onboarding Committee continues to validate high-quality contributors. This month, we welcomed three exceptional community leaders into our ranks:

  • Andi Schmitt (Germany): Creator of the Light up Kryptos YouTube channel, focusing on expanding general crypto education into targeted Cardano and Midnight content in the DACH region.

  • Rodrigo (Brazil): Driving regional localized community growth and outreach.

  • Gisella Rosa / Arcella (Puerto Rico): An OG community contributor, musician, and the mastermind behind Adelink and Liptoria.

2. Ambassador Tooling MVP Goes Live on Mainnet

Hinson Wong presented a major development milestone for the program: the formal open-source deployment of the Ambassador Tooling MVP on the Cardano mainnet.

  • On-Chain Reputation: In collaboration with Lido Nation and Andamio, the project uses CIP-68 tokens to tie a permanent, unalterable track record of forum activity and contribution history straight to your wallet.

  • Stateless Architecture: The backend contract and off-chain libraries (built by Sidan Lab) are designed to be completely open-source and lean, eliminating central databases.

  • Next Steps: The core framework is live. The community team will coordinate with ambassadors on Slack to test the execution of real, local event funding through this on-chain mechanism.

3. The Flip App: Bridging FinTech Simplification and Web3 Yield

Christian Omvik, Director of Partnerships at NBX, delivered an eye-opening presentation on how The Flip App and Flip for Business are abstracting away complex crypto user experiences to drive everyday utility.

  • Text-Message Simplicity: Flip functions as a non-custodial wallet that replaces long cryptographic addresses with standard phone numbers. It intentionally hides charts, trendlines, and crypto jargon to target non-crypto natives.

  • Flip for Business: Currently active in the UAE and moving into Europe, it permits enterprises to pay international freelancers using local fiat currency. The business transfers local fiat bank-to-bank to an exchange partner, which automatically disperses MiCA-compliant stablecoins (like USDM) directly to the freelancers’ phone numbers within minutes.

  • Unlocking Real Yield: In partnership with Liquid Finance, the upcoming V2 upgrade will give everyday workers and maritime crews the ability to route their non-custodial salary balances into decentralized yield with a single click.

  • Ecosystem Ask: Christian shared a candid look at constraints regarding microtransactions, network fees, and institutional compliance (such as the need for freeze-and-seize standards). This sparked an immediate collaboration circle during the call, with Beatrice Anihiri (Blockfrost) and ambassador developers stepping up to align technical solutions.

4. Demystifying the Cardano Foundation Community Team

Denicio Bute walked the assembly through a comprehensive blueprint detailing the service catalog, communication channels, and production tools that the Community Team manages to boost ecosystem visibility.

  • Live Broadcast Infrastructure: The community team offers production backing and live-streaming channels (leveraging the Cardano Community YouTube channel and an X account with nearly 1.5 million followers) for regional workshops, developer events, and grassroots builders.

  • Round Table Formats: Structured, neutral discussion platforms designed to represent the ecosystem’s diversity. These include the SPO Table Talks, Governance Round Tables, and Cross-Ecosystem Panels that bring competing networks together to address shared industry hurdles.

  • Developer Showcase & Portal: High-traffic landing assets on Cardano.org where live mainnet projects can integrate their company logs, request feature spotlights, and submit standard documentation.

This is incredibly inspiring to read. As someone who is not yet a Cardano ambassador but dreams of becoming one someday, seeing the transparency, on-chain reputation tools, real-world use cases like The Flip App, and the warm welcome given to new ambassadors really motivates me to keep learning and contributing.

Thank you to all the current ambassadors and the Community Team for building such a solid foundation. I hope to one day earn my place among you and help drive Cardano adoption in my own region.

Congratulations to the new ambassadors Andi, Rodrigo, and Gisella! Looking forward to following your journeys.”*

Thanks for the update on the Ambassador Program, and congratulations to all the new entrants!

However, I have a quick question about the Ambassador Tooling MVP: is this tool intended primarily for internal ambassador program management, or is it a public-facing tool where ecosystem members can also view and verify ambassadors’ activities and contributions? In any case, I greatly appreciate the tool.

Hi, as a minimal viable product still in development to see what will be the final scope. For now it is just for internal management, but with the idea to include features in the future to be able to highlight and show the work Ambassadors do around the globe.

Understood now!

Kudos on achieving this milestone, and looking forward to what comes next!

Long live the Cardano Ambassadors Program!
