Shelley Networked Testnet reflections

I’ve poped that on twitter but want to share here as well.
Today/last night I’ve tried my hand at Cardano Shelley networked testnet. I’ve installed Jormungandr networking, started the node and sync it. Then I’ve created an account address, acquired funds from faucet and sent some to another address. Even created stake pool. Quite good for completely newbie, not tech-savvy, completely fresh … hmm… developer , doesn’t it ?
I don’t intend to run a pool of course, after all I do completely lack all the necessary developer’s knowledge, but that example shows how accessible Cardano net will be. Great time ahead of us.

Awsome I’m going to try the same in the next week or two. Where did you start getting info on how to do it if I may ask? IOHK website? You running Windows OS?

Thanks!

Hi Fred and Basia,

I had a go at this too, dreaming of stake pool operation. I think I’m with you though Basia, need more skills.

I had trouble getting my node up however. The config file seemed didn’t work with the latest Jormungandr release.

I’m using Linux. I’ll keep trying as I imagine it is a satisfying thing to achieve. Good on you.

Cheers
D
P.S. Love the gifs you put up occasionally.
