Strengthening Local Builders: Highlights from Our Hackers Meetup in Goma (Part of Cardano Africa Tech Summit 2025)

As part of the Cardano Africa Tech Summit 2025 preparations, our community in Goma hosted an intensive in-person meetup with 50 local hackers and builders, creating a space for project sharing, collaboration, and technical learning.

We started at 11:00 and continued until 16:00, giving room for all eight project teams to present what they are building. After each presentation, participants engaged with thoughtful questions, insights, and suggestions — reinforcing a strong culture of peer learning.

A key component of the session was our introduction to Cardano development tools such as APIs, MeshJS, and other resources available across the ecosystem. The objective was to help teams understand how to integrate Cardano into their solutions and begin preparing for long-term technical adoption.

This meetup is one of the steps leading toward the Cardano Africa Tech Summit 2025, aiming to strengthen technical talent, support local innovation, and empower builders across the region. The level of engagement and curiosity from participants shows clear momentum in Goma’s emerging Web3 and blockchain community.

More workshops and follow-up sessions will continue as we prepare for the summit and support local teams in refining their projects.

I am truly delighted to be part of this journey aimed at delivering Cardano-based solutions that address real local problems in African countries.
For me, this marks the beginning of a major transition for many African Web2 developers as they move toward Web3 through the Cardano blockchain.
Grow Cardano, Grow Africa.
