The Community Wants to Know: Season 1 Wrap-Up & The Road Ahead
The First Audit is Complete.
When I started “The Community Wants to Know,” the goal was simple: ensure that power in the Voltaire era is balanced by transparency. We set out to see who was behind the handles and why they voted the way they did for millions of ADA.
Season 1 at a Glance: Over 5 episodes, we brought five prominent voices to the Hot Seat . We didn’t just listen to their visions; we audited their on-chain reality :
- We saw a 70% drop in delegation for a pioneer who lost faith in the system. We questioned 276 million ADA in withdrawals and the “politicking” of technical dReps. We uncovered how anonymous committees missed critical deadlines and blocked governance safety-nets to leverage their own pay. We learned how wallet technicalities led to expired votes and how the 2030 Vision might be weaponized in future budget cycles. We watched a shift from fiscal conservatism to a 450M ADA “all-in” strategy for the ecosystem.
The Inquisitor’s Reflection: This journey wasn’t just about the interviews. It was about the backend struggle for data . I navigated discrepancies between tools like Cardano Cube and cGov, often being ignored by those who didn’t want their “faults” pointed out. I faced dReps who were happy to talk to the community but reluctant to be questioned by them.
I’ve been told my summaries are “negative-leaning.” My response: The data is neutral; the numbers and the voting records are simply facts . My role is to bring that data to the light. Your role as a delegator is to be the judge.
The Seat is Empty… For Now. Season 1 focused on the earliest dReps. It was a season of “Pioneers.”
Season 2 is starting soon. It will be different—more diverse, more evolved, and wider in scope. We are moving beyond the initial “Hot Seat” to explore new facets of governance and different voices within the ecosystem, while maintaining our strict 1-hour “Inquisitor” format .
The first chapter is closed, but the ledger is always open.
