Unified Cardano Student Club Nigeria Hosts 4-Hour Global Workshop & Leadership Inauguration

Advancing Cardano Education, Governance Awareness, and Student Leadership in Africa

On 10th January 2026, the Unified Cardano Student Club Nigeria (UCSC Nigeria) successfully hosted a 4-Hour Global Workshop that brought together students from 6 different Universities in Nigeria, developers, ecosystem contributors, and Web3 enthusiasts from different regions to learn, connect, and grow within the Cardano ecosystem.

The event was designed to be beginner-friendly yet ecosystem-relevant, focusing on education, governance, career pathways, and community building on Cardano. It also marked a major milestone for UCSC Nigeria with the official inauguration and oath-taking of its newly elected student leaders.

Speaker: Mr. Ubio Obu — CEO, Remostart

Mr. Ubio Obu delivered an insightful live session focused on Africa’s strategic role in the future of Cardano, with special emphasis on Nigeria as a hub for talent, innovation, and adoption.

Key highlights from his talk included:

  • Why Africa represents a critical growth frontier for Cardano
  • The importance of aligning local skills with global ecosystem needs

Although unable to join live, Nicolas Cerny delivered a comprehensive presentation on Cardano Governance, helping participants understand how decentralization works in practice.

  • The role of DReps, Intersect, Committees, and Community Participation
  • Why governance literacy is critical for long-term decentralization
  • How students and community members can begin participating responsibly

This session helped demystify governance for newcomers and reinforced Cardano’s commitment to transparent, community-driven decision-making.

Session: Catalyst Africa Townhall

The Catalyst Africa Townhall session focused on career pathways and community engagement within the Cardano ecosystem, especially through Project Catalyst.

Key takeaways included:

  • Opportunities available through Catalyst, community hubs, and ecosystem projects
  • The importance of collaboration, volunteering, and proposal participation
  • Building a reputation and skillset within the Cardano ecosystem

A major highlight of the event was the official inauguration and oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected leaders of the Unified Cardano Student Club Nigeria.

Newly Inaugurated Leaders:

  • Vice President: Daniel Alex

The ceremony symbolized UCSC Nigeria’s commitment to:

  • Structured student leadership

This is excellent work, especially at the very beginning of the year, as you start engaging developers and others with the Cardano ecosystem through education.
However, I’m just curious to see some statistics on the outcomes of your activities—for example, how many people participated.
