The RS coin project was originally used as practice in implementing a cryptocurrency from a paper.
IOHK then used it as the accounting ledger for ADA. The keys generated on the RSCoin network were the keys you used to redeem if you had participated in that.
The network has been shutdown, and there are no plans to do anything else with it at this time.
