Will ADA Whales Ever Give Up Their Power?

That’s the point.

Adafans_io it’s not “you” as a person presented as a problem it’s the “ad hominem” style of argumentative joust that you sometimes slide into. Attack the idea not the person. For example, stating a concept starts to bleed into the communist manifesto…okay…fair enough. Screaming somebody is a “commie” is “ad hominem” i.e. you moved from attacking an idea to attacking a person. Then once you label a person a commie you then move to dismiss every logical point from that person as FUD and then move from commie to troll. It’s a tiresome series of attacks that goes like this i.e. i disagree with him intellectually —> proceed to ad hominem —> discount all logical points as FUD —> scream troll —> clutch pearls and position myself as the victim that no one understands when called out. You aren’t a victim - you are adept at logical debate but you are also adept at ad hominem and appeal to ridicule…i;m just saying you are slipping into the “dark side” Skywalker…stick to the light side of the force.

TLDR : Attacking a person shuts down intellectual debate and it leaves no way for a person to save face. Don’t do it.

No one here wants to fork Cardano, the talk about forking was the result of your nasty comments.

Lol. Hate me all you want, just don’t spread fud here about whales and forks

Again. If one adheres to a communist economic system, why calling it by name is an “attack”?

No, your whole argument is a fallacy of a personal attack (a.k.a Ad hominem) with some other magical thinking’s tools (Ad Logicam).

lol, so, you accuse me of personal attacks, but your post is offtopic and it’s only aim is to attack me
maybe you should scroll up and read the thread from the start?

So, you have not realised that I just answered your off-topic question honestly by pointing out the logical fallacies in the question, without any ulterior motives.

Yes. I am wrong, you are right.

p.s. read the thread from the start and think 4 yourself

@Adafans_io You are so aggressive with everyone and not helping. You act like everyone is your enemy.

Is it an idea or a person you are referring to when you say “it”?

Is your intent to logically work through an idea to quantitative & qualitatively asses it or do you extend that idea out to embody a person and start to dehumanize them?

Both ideas and humans are extremely complex & nuanced. Stick to unpacking, deconstructing, and working through ideas …and it’s okay to be vicious about that (although not recommended). With people…give them space and give them grace …the art of really good debate is to thoroughly work through an idea while maintaining respect of the intrinsic worth of yourself and your opponent intact. Put simply, imagine that you are discussing a topic with a dear friend who you value & cherish. If you find yourself emotionally tied to the outcome of an argument be wary of the tool sets you use in persuading folks to your ideas.

Note: i am guilty of ad hominem too and I regret EVERY single time i do that. If i do it i expect everyone here to call me out and I will adjust.

p.s. Adfans_io the correct answer to the whole community is as follows ; “I apologize and going forward I will work on keeping the discussion within the marketplace of ideas.” And bam all is forgiven.

Hello @rickymac. This is not true, I know @rin9s from before @ADALove joined the forum. We have talked on Google hangouts, @werkof can confirm this .

This discussion is seriously going off-topic and becoming a place for defamation and ad-hominem.

I was hoping this warning was not necessary but guys, for f*ck sake, you do not have to agree with each other, you do not have to like each other. You don’t even have to talk to each other…

But you will all adhere to the forum community guidelines! Now everyone take a deep breath and be cool…

All of you need to post something objective and on topic if you want to participate in this discussion, or leave this thread alone (and each other as well ).

I confirm and agree.

Please, keep calm and rejoice in the realization that you are not alone with your opinion in this world. (which means that there are followers of your opinion but also other opinions)

“Hope” isn’t a strategy and I intend to hold myself and people responsible especially when I have put $100’000’s of my own dollars into the project. I would like to understand this topic a lot more and I would like to interrogate it’s future ramifications. At the very least for my own edification…I’m sure there will be books in the far off future written just about this specific topic. The affect on whales in crypto currency lifecycles…it’s fascinating no?

Hey all,
Was sort of avoiding this thread due to what our dear @Bullish describes, but here I am, just to confirm I am not ADALove, and to express my disconcertment that

Just because we both read a markdown cheatsheet doesn’t make our styles identical

For once, it seems to me that ADALove is American, while I am clearly not a native English speaker myself

Good day all.

@rin9s Just to clarify: I don’t use any cheetsheets and I have dual citizenship, but the last time I checked, I’m not rin9s. I often appreciate rin9s’ thoughtful comments, but anybody who confuses our writing styles is not reading our posts closely enough to understand them. That’s why they make so many false assumptions and why they jump to absurdly illogical conclusions when they read many posts in these forums.

To those people: Consider spending more time reading and thinking and less time “calling it how you see it” with your thoughtless digital outbursts because your’re not seeing anything when you ignore the nuance and texture in other people’s words and perspectives.

I totally agree

Apparently Obama didn’t get the memo.

Depending when you bought in, even if you bought in at 0.1, you know that you are actually one of the whales? According to these statistics (they were in another thread, cant remember which one)… I hope you understand that. Because the statistics @adalove has used, you are are definitely a whale if you have more than 1 Mil ADA. I dont have the exact list since adatacker only tracks the top 100, but I would guess that top 1000, you will get in, if you have 1 mil… It could even be top 500-300…

Which is why this whole whale thing is a joke…

and if you had bought at ICO, you would be the 29th largest holder.

ADALove I find myself in the same camp i.e. Libertarian leaning but have a hard time grasping how the common man can compete with Corporations, Robotic Automation, and A.I. which will for the first time in human history render “human labor” potentially obsolete or in other words the “Elites” don’t need the masses and upward trajectory (bottom rungs of the ladder are permanently gone). Unless that is the whole nature of work changes or there is a reversion to the mean (living locally and with less) due to true price discovery i.e. this debt & death paradigm built on consumerism gets flipped on it’s head…a monetary collapse could do that.

I sell software to organizations (to include AI/machine learning) that replaces whole lines of business…there will be huge swaths of the economy which will be economic roadkill to include many of the middle & upper class.

I did read @ADALove comment on this, and will form a response some time pointing out how this is not a problem, since this is something most libertarians dont have an answer to. Due to not being fully educated or comprehending the free market mechanics. The idea that machines destroying our jobs is a bad thing is absolutely absurd, the whole point of the free market is to destroy jobs, thats what we want… We dont want to work, we want stuff… But anyway, I will get back to this topic when I feel like it, and form a comprehensive response.
