Cardano Foundation February Meetup Report
You may have seen that the UK experienced some of the worst weather ever at the end of February. What was equally impressive is that this did not stop the Cardano community from attending our meetup!
Bruce Milligan, General Manager at Cardano Foundation, hosted a packed event in London where he gave a thorough overview of the Foundation’s role and answered questions from the attendees.
With over 150 people braving the snow and ice, it proved to be an exciting evening, not only to hear about the Foundation but for people from all over the world being able to meet for the first time. We had community members making a ten hour round trip by car from Lancashire, as well as people coming from Poland, Belgium, France and South Korea!
We have launched a Meetup section on the forum and are very keen to support you if you would like to run a meetup in your town or city. Do post on the forum and do join the Cardano Meetups already springing up.
Meeting with members of the Korean National Assembly
On the 9th March, Michael Parsons, Chairman of Cardano Foundation, together with Bruce Milligan, met with a delegation from the South Korean National Assembly in London to discuss the future policy and regulation trends of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. Topics included the taxation issues relating to cryptocurrency exchanges and the support infrastructure of blockchain technology development.
Michael presented an overview of Cardano as a leading blockchain platform and provided expert opinion on Tax, Regulation and ICO’s. Bruce provided an update on how Cardano Foundation seeks to influence regulation and standards for blockchain technology through research, outreach and education.
The roundtable event was hosted by XnTree, a project management and investment firm, curating and delivering incubation programs for deep technology ventures in FinTech and SmartCity project across different jurisdictions.
Korean section added to the forum
We are excited to announce that the Korean section has been added to the Cardano Forum!
This will serve as the central space for the Korean Cardano community members to learn more about the project, collaborate with other community members and make meaningful contributions to the overall wider project. We now have Korean, Japanese, Chinese and English sections of the forum with lots of active conversations taking place right now!
