Cardano Ambassador for South Africa

2) How did you get interested and involved with Blockchain/Crypto?

I was introduced to Blockchain in 2018 by a lady who wanted a website for recruiting Bitcoin users, then researched and fell in love with Satoshi Nakamoto white paper and by end of 2018 registered Women In Move Solutions Pty Ltd together with Satoshi company in South Africa. Struggled a lot until in 2021 when I joined Cardano under WIMS as a trainee smart contract developer. Since then I have built a strong, fast growing community mainly in Africa with over 7 active countries.

3) Why Cardano?

The academic nature of Cardano and women figures like Ada Lovelace were the main attraction point. Haskell Plutus, although challenging, helped me grow in blockchain.

4) How are you contributing to the Cardano Ecosystem as an Ambassador?

Major activities are:

Community builder and maintainer (https://cardanoafrica.live/

Promoting CBCA certification, EBU Plutus certification, and ambassadors’ social impact activities via the WIMS Cardano marketing department

Education of non-technical people via music and dance

Live technical person-to-person support on Cardano activities, mostly smart contract development with Plutus

New member recruitment — I am always bringing new members to Cardano and maintaining existing ones, mostly IT tertiary students

5) What is your future vision for the Cardano Ecosystem?

As a technical person, my passion is to see the ecosystem flooded with useful tools to assist new developers get started easily, quickly and productively.

6 ) What is your personal message to the Cardano community?

Without the Cardano community we would not be where we are. I say thank you very much, I know we are global, diverse, inclusive and above all Cardano cares.

We’re grateful for the continued contributions of motivated community members across the Cardano ecosystem. Thank you for reading, and we invite you to engage and follow our Ambassadors’ work. :100::muscle:

Bernard Sibanda is truly a source of inspiration for me within the Cardano ecosystem, his commitment, strength, and dedication to training Haskell and Plutus developers across Africa are remarkable

I personally coordinate a group of more than 15 learners, myself included, studying Haskell and Plutus under Coxygen Global where he serves as CEO, and through this program I am now able to read, understand, and write certain Plutus smart contracts built with Haskell functions, I also had the opportunity to receive Haskell training through EBU thanks to his leadership

It is truly a blessing for Africa to have a leader like Bernard Sibanda (wimscardano), and I sincerely thank the Cardano Foundation for entrusting him with the responsibility of Ambassador; he represents not only South Africa but the whole of Africa
