Ready? Let’s Dive Right In!

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What is your background?

My name is Neal, and I’m based in Hong Kong. I started my career in banking as a Management Trainee, with exposure to private banking, cross-border finance, and the financial market. After spending some time in that environment, I started feeling that the room for growth was a bit limited, especially when it came to broader exposure and learning new things. That made me more interested in digital transformation, so I actively moved into areas like UI/UX, digital banking, and mobile banking. Looking back, that mix of finance and digital experience really shaped how I see products, users, and innovation today, and it eventually led me into blockchain and Web3.

2) How did you get interested and involved with Blockchain/Crypto?

I got into blockchain and crypto in 2021. At first, I was mainly curious because of my finance background, but things became much more real when I was living with my co-founders, Hinson and Anson. The three of us all had the same feeling that we wanted to try building something of our own, so we started exploring different directions together. Through that process, we got the chance to work on a Cardano project as a team. Each of us contributed in different areas, and seeing that we could actually build something and create real results gave us a lot of confidence. That was when this space stopped being just interesting to me and started feeling like something I truly wanted to commit to.

3) Why Cardano?

For me, the answer is simple: security comes first. In finance and especially in trading, security is the foundation. If that part is weak, nothing else really matters. Cardano stood out to me because of its strong focus on security, its eUTXO model, and its commitment to decentralization. I really value those fundamentals, especially when thinking about building for the long term. Cardano gave me the feeling that this is an ecosystem built with more discipline, stronger structure, and a mindset that matches how I think about trust and sustainability.

4) How are you contributing to the Cardano Ecosystem as an Ambassador?

As a Cardano Ambassador, I mainly focus on building community and connecting people. I support the ecosystem through events, meetups, workshops, and relationship-building, especially in Hong Kong and across Asia. A big part of what I do is helping connect founders, builders, partners, and newcomers, and making Cardano feel more approachable for people who are just getting started. One thing that is very natural to me is hospitality. Whenever people from the Cardano community come to Hong Kong, I always try to make time for them, show them around, and make them feel at home. I’ve always believed community grows through real relationships, and that’s the part I care about most.

5) What is your future vision for the Cardano Ecosystem?

I hope Cardano continues to grow into one of the most trusted and impactful blockchain ecosystems in the world. I’d love to see stronger real-world adoption, better DeFi infrastructure, more builders joining the ecosystem, and more growth in Asia through education, local events, and partnerships. One thing I’ve always appreciated about Cardano is that it doesn’t rely on flashy marketing or empty hype. It moves forward in a steady, secure, and reliable way, and I believe that kind of progress is what will drive real blockchain adoption over time. More than anything, I hope Cardano keeps building around what makes it special in the first place: security, decentralization, and long-term thinking. If we stay true to that while bringing in more people and more real use cases, I think the future is very strong.

6 ) What is your personal message to the Cardano community?

To me, Cardano is more than an ecosystem. It feels like home, so let’s keep showing up for each other and growing together as a family.

Wow, moving from traditional banking to the Cardano blockchain truly shows how quickly Neal Lam recognized the real value and necessity of DeFi compared to centralized finance. I especially appreciate his enthusiasm and the way he highlights key elements like eUTxO and other important features that drew him to Cardano.

It is a genuinely inspiring journey. “May God continue to inspire and protect this ambassador so he can keep giving his best in service of the community”.

Congratulations Neal, this is well deserved.

Your journey connects both finance and real community building. That combination is rare, and it’s exactly what ecosystems like Cardano need as they grow beyond just technology.

I also appreciate your emphasis on relationships and making people feel welcome. From what I’ve seen, long-term adoption doesn’t come from tools alone, it comes from trust, consistency, and people who are willing to show up and connect others.

Your perspective on security and discipline as foundations for growth really resonates as well. It’s easy to chase speed, but building something that lasts requires a different mindset.

Wishing you the best as you continue contributing and strengthening the community.
