Part 1: Lucas, Meetup Organiser:
Lucas has recently joined the Ambassador ranks as a Meetup Organiser.
1) Tell us a little about yourself. What is your background?
I´ve been working in Social media Marketing for over +4 Years now and helped build several profiles in different industries & Platforms.
2) How did you get interested and involved with Blockchain/Crypto?
Ever since I was born I´ve always been connected with technology. I first came across Crypto way back in 2014 when I found out about Crypto Mining and I found it fascinating. After a few days of investigating, I got busy with life and lost track of the technology.
Until 2020, when I started investing in Stocks and started hearing about the concept of Tokenization and NFTs, I quickly got curious and came across Cardano. After a few months of investigating Cardano I decided to start my own Project:
Token Allies, a crowdfunding platform for real-life businesses in Cardano.
3) Why Cardano?
I choose Cardano because I believe in the community’s values and vision. Besides the technical fundamentals, the Cardano community is really something else and it shows the amazing value Cardano has.
4) How are you contributing to the Cardano Ecosystem as an Ambassador?
In September 2021 a few community members in LATAM got together and recognized the lack of space for the Latin American community to express their opinions and have a voice in their native languages.
That’s when we created the LATAM Cardano Community, which got funded in F7 & F8 of Project Catalyst. At the moment we’ve already organized +27 LATAM TownHalls. (Each Thursday 21:30 UTC in Zoom & Youtube). I´ve also been organizing several local Cardano meetups in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
5) What is your future vision for the Cardano Ecosystem?
I believe in a future where the Blockchain is a part of everyone’s everyday life. I believe Cardano has the tools and people to make it happen.
6 ) What is your personal message to the Cardano community?
Always focus on providing value. If you take each conversation or interaction as an opportunity to provide value to the other person, you will quickly realize how powerful a community can be!
—The End of Part 1.
Part 2: Martin, Content Creator
Martin has recently joined the Ambassador ranks as a Content Creator.
1) Tell us a little about yourself. What is your background?
My background is in finance and economics, although I have always been a nerd and a geek interested in computers.
2) How did you get interested and involved with Blockchain/Crypto?
I first discovered Bitcoin back in 2013 when I was searching for information about encryption on the web. Built a Litecoin mining rig the same year and started trading it for BTC. I have always been interested in the digital rights movement and an advocate for privacy and anonymity online. Bitcoin was, therefore, the conjunction of both of my interests economics and digital sovereignty.
3) Why Cardano?
I started to pay attention to Cardano and researching the project back in 2020. What got me interested is the academic and formal approach to its development. After researching almost every other PoS out there I decided to get involved in Cardano by setting up a stake pool. The possibility of being able to run a validator myself was determining factor for me. Since running (for a short period of time) my Litecoin mining rig, I was not able to find another project in which I could participate by hosting the infrastructure.
4) How are you contributing to the Cardano Ecosystem as an Ambassador?
As a Cardano Ambassador, I’m contributing to the ecosystem by creating quality educational content in Spanish for the Hispanic community.
5) What is your future vision for the Cardano Ecosystem?
My vision for the future of the Cardano ecosystem is a bright one if we are able to stand united against the forces that want to see us fail. The community of SPOs is a very strong and professional stakeholder of this ecosystem and a cornerstone of the project. But with great power comes great responsibilities. We need to defend the decentralization of the network and part of that job is to educate people on why this is an important and imperative thing to do.
6 ) What is your personal message to the Cardano community?
My personal message to the Cardano community is to not be afraid to speak out against injustices and corruption that might appear in our ecosystem. As the project keeps growing and meeting milestones, it’s not only outside grifters that we’ll have to defend against. There are also malicious actors inside our community who don’t care about the success of Cardano, only about their personal gain. As Project Catalyst keeps growing in size and success it will attract malicious actors that want to drain the Treasury for their own gain. We must remain vigilant and protect each other. With integrity, hard work, and resilience there’s nothing we can’t achieve.
—The End of Part 2.
We are truly blessed with such motivated community members we have in our ecosystem! Thank you all for reading, and don’t forget to leave your comments/likes and give our Ambassadors some Cardano community and follow their work!
Until next time, with new people and new Ambassador Stories!
