Ambassador Stories, Journal #40: Jose Iadicicco

Welcome to the 40th journal of the “Ambassador Stories” series! :star_struck::tada:

New stories will be shared with you, whenever new ambassadors join our ranks and provide their stories.

You’ll be able to enjoy the various, unique stories of our Cardano Community Ambassadors: what motivated, and still motivates them, to be part of this amazing and wonderful community?

The Cardano Community Team would also like to thank the Ambassadors for all their continued efforts and participation in sharing their stories with us. :writing_hand:

Jose Iadicicco, Ambassador Meetup Organizer:

Jose recently joined the ranks of Cardano Ambassadors as a Meetup Organizer. Many of you may recognize him from ‘ADA Labs for Blockchain Applications’ in Argentina or his work with the public university UTN, where he’s actively involved in blockchain education. Jose is eager to bring his skills and passion to contribute to Cardano’s growth, not only in Argentina but throughout LATAM as well. Thank you, Jose, and welcome to the Ambassador Program!

Alright, Let’s Dive Right In!

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What is your background?

I consider myself a generalist, with a broad knowledge base across a wide range of areas. This allows me to connect dots that aren’t always obvious to others. My focus has always been on people—I’m deeply committed to understanding human needs and how technology can improve lives. At heart, I’m a humanist, driven by the desire to make a positive impact while enjoying the journey alongside others. This perspective guides everything I do, from my work in the blockchain space to community building and beyond.

2) How did you get interested and involved with Blockchain/Crypto?

My interest in blockchain and crypto began with a deep curiosity about how decentralized technologies could reshape traditional systems, particularly in finance and governance.

As someone with a strong academic and technical background, I was fascinated by the mathematical and cryptographic innovations behind blockchain. My involvement grew further when I saw the potential for blockchain to address real-world challenges in regions like Latin America, where financial inclusion and transparency are critical.

This led me to become actively engaged with the Cardano ecosystem, where I saw the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to building a more equitable future through decentralized technology.

Developers from my old company told me that I should buy Bitcoin, and I followed their advice.

3) Why Cardano?

I chose Cardano because it stands out for its rigorous, research-driven approach to blockchain technology.

Built on a foundation of peer-reviewed academic research, Cardano combines cutting-edge cryptography, engineering, and a vision of decentralized governance. What truly attracted me is its commitment to sustainability, scalability, and inclusivity, aiming to provide a global, decentralized financial infrastructure that can empower people worldwide. Cardano’s focus on long-term impact, especially in underserved regions like Latin America, aligns with my personal values and goals to create a fairer, more accessible digital ecosystem.

4) How are you contributing to the Cardano Ecosystem as an Ambassador?

As a Cardano Ambassador, I have actively contributed to the ecosystem by organizing key events, such as the Cardano Summit in Buenos Aires, and facilitating the integration of Cardano into educational institutions, like our work with the public university UTN.

I have also been deeply involved in community building, co-leading the ADA Labs for Blockchain Applications (ALBA) initiative, and organizing Latin America’s first Cardano Hackathon. My efforts have focused on expanding Cardano’s presence in Latin America, ensuring that the community thrives and that educational opportunities are created for future developers and leaders in the space.

5) What is your future vision for the Cardano Ecosystem?

Remembering that Cardano was born as an academic blockchain, relying on leading universities, cryptographers, mathematicians, and scientists to develop its architecture, in this new phase of governance, we should continue with our core principles and values.

We should also rely on sociologists, social scientists, and academic specialists in social areas to design a governance system that achieves what most politicians and governments have not: governance that serves the majority.

6 ) What is your personal message to the Cardano community?

Enjoy the trip
