Art contest for cardano.org

By Johnny Walker Jr.

The artwork is a futuristic, neon-lit graphic with a central blue circle surrounded by a white ring, set against a dark blue and purple background with various circuit board-like lines and symbols.

  • The inspiration behind this artwork is the intersection of technology and innovation, reflecting Cardano’s focus on blockchain development and cryptocurrency.
  • The design aligns with Cardano’s values of:
    • Innovation: The futuristic and neon-lit elements represent the cutting-edge technology and innovative approach of Cardano.
    • Security: The circuit board-like lines and symbols symbolize the secure and robust nature of the Cardano blockchain.
    • Community: The central blue circle represent the core community and values of Cardano, surrounded by the white ring, which may signify the inclusive and transparent nature of the platform)

No offense but using AI for this feels a bit low effort and doesn’t have the same charm and strong character as human made graphics.

Hey you got to give me pointer for trying I thought it was pretty cool and was really wondering why y’all didn’t do it yourself if I could do that using Messenger y’all should definitely have thought of it but you’re right when it comes from a human’s heart it does mean more so I ain’t mad at you

If you don’t mind me asking how did you know it was AI

The lines look undefined and like an average of thousands of « bad » free stock graphics relating to tech from an image bank. A real artist doesn’t make « hesitant » looking graphics like this, for lack of a better term. I have been into neural network generated graphics as a hobby since 2014 so I am pretty good at recognizing AI made art. So I was sure it was AI, and then I found the little logo that your generator left as well which confirmed my judgement.

I have forked the Cardano.org site and added a page with my art work. Getting closer to submission. I submitted the pull request. Hopefully everything went as it should.

The submission represents a proportional display of wallets in the Cardano ecosystem. This is represented by a solid circle that is surrounded by a larger almost transparent circle. The outer circle represents social influence and the inner circle represents ADA weighted influence. When circles overlap they turn from white to a salmon color. The circles also have a stickiness that can stretch and deform the circles.

Wallet data used;
Total holders - 2,903,188
9 types of holders
A. < 1 hold 69,060 total ADA 2,631,623 wallets
B. 1 - 10 hold 2,081,000 total ADA 815,663 wallets
C. 10 - 100 hold 21,001,000 total ADA 559,206 wallets
D. 100 - 1000 hold 206,093,000 total ADA 545,068 wallets
E. 1,000 - 10k hold 1,027,000,000 total ADA in 394,192 wallets
F. 10k - 100k hold 3,049,000,000 total ADA in 125,588 wallets
G. 100k - 1 million hold 5,006,000,000 total ADA in 21,918 wallets
H. 1M - 10M hold 5,063,000,000 total ADA in 2,432 wallets
I. >10 million hold 15,015,000,000 total ADA in 378 wallets
I excluded all the A. wallets as outliers (dust wallets) and further reduced the over total generated circles by a factor of 850.

The circles can be moved around by the user with click and drag.

The visual art is intended to stimulate understanding of the impact on the values of decentralization, innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity that wallet distribution has on an ecosystem.

Title: REimagine Cardano

Designer: Amilka Lopez

Description:
The artwork depicts the original decentralization through the random creation of nodes and edges that appear at first contained by the perimeter of a circle. I implemented several user-interactions: depending on the position of the cursor, the background color changes from blue to teal, the nodes and edges are pulled toward the cursor and the image depicted by the same will depend on mouse clicks. On a first click, the preexisting nodes and edges are arranged to form a certain shape. The nodes are leaf-shaped and abstract lightbulbs (yellow circle) to represent sustainability and innovation. Some nodes are also capable of spinning in place, to represent the path toward change. On that note, a second click of the mouse will make the preexisting nodes and edges rearrange themselves, but this time, based on proximity, new edges can be formed. This depicts Cardano’s value of inclusivity and transformation.

To maintain brand image, I inspired the design based on the existing Hero page, and played around with the shapes and interactivity to create a memorable experience for the platform users and convey the message of how sustainability, innovation, inclusivity and decentralization manifest in Cardano.

Title: Global Connection

Designer: Rolo Galdames

Descripción:It symbolizes Cardano’s innovative and resilient spirit through a composition rich in meaning. At the center, an ouroboros, depicted as a self-consuming circle, evokes the infinite cycle of innovation and global connection that defines the protocol. This symbol reflects not only the system’s perpetuity and sustainability but also the balance that ensures its functionality.

On either side of the ouroboros, two faces split in half represent scalability and the peer-review process—foundational pillars of Cardano. The division of the faces symbolizes how ideas are challenged, refined, and strengthened through critical analysis by experts, ensuring the robustness of every scientific and technological advancement.

Between the two halves, graphical elements inspired by Cardano’s visual design emerge, bridging theory and practice. These figures embody the continuous interaction between developers, users, and communities, highlighting interoperability and global collaboration as drivers of progress.

As a whole, the composition captures Cardano’s essence as an inclusive, scalable, and scientifically rigorous system that not only connects people and technologies but also integrates ethical values, sustainability, and a forward-looking vision.

Title: lnahrf’s Cardano artwork contest submission

Designer: lnahrf

Description:
I created a WebGL (three.js) header for the contest.
My initial thought was to try and go for a design that conveys a sense of calmness and cleanliness, the same cleanliness that Cardano emits throughout a crypto universe that is filled with noise.

There isn’t any special interactivity in my design because I did not want to take the user’s attention off the actual website and content. The banner is just there to welcome the user to the Cardano website—nothing more, nothing less. I used a subtle gradient as a background and generated a rotating 3D Cardano logo from an SVG file. The 3D logo captures the attention of the viewer without being overwhelming or too noisy (the same as Cardano is in the crypto universe). I made sure my scene is contained within one component, is responsive for all devices, looks good in dark mode, and matches the clean design language of other headers on the Cardano.org website.

Hope you like my submission!

Art contest for cardano.org
Title: Your Journey, Our Future
Designer: Yao Yao
Cardano forum account: yao_huynh
Description:

Blockquote “Future of humanity is in your hands!”

This banner tells to everyone first come to Cardano website that: no matter who you are, your ideas can shine here. By stepping through the door, you can join Cardano in building a brighter future of humanity. Behind that door lies endless possibilities, waiting for you. And all of those is being built with the Cardano’s core values—decentralization, innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity.

Graphic Explanation

  • The globe in the banner symbolizes humanity’s future, combining advanced infrastructure with nature’s beauty. Buildings, wind turbines, trees, and a whale in the ocean highlight Cardano’s commitment to sustainability—developing the future while protecting the environment. The circle around the globe represents safeguarding this vision for humanity.
  • A person stands before an open door with a light bulb above, symbolizing new ideas. The door has no handle, emphasizing open access. Just one step forward, and the future is yours. The supporting hand reminds us that building this future is within your grasp.
  • The lines and dots represent decentralization and technology, connecting the globe to the sky and beyond. These connections highlight Cardano’s limitless reach and ability to empower people everywhere to contribute to this shared future - even in the skies, outer space…

Color Choices and Overall Vibe

  • I avoided using dark colors in the banner because while darker tones can create a sense of trust, they might also make Cardano seem like a mysterious place, discouraging or even intimidating the audience. Instead, I chose brighter shades of blue to evoke a feeling of trust while introducing a futuristic and technological vibe. This brighter palette conveys promise and optimism, encouraging the audience to explore more about what Cardano has to offer.
  • Combined with the graphic elements, the entire banner is designed to feel approachable and relatable—not too distant, not too challenging, but full of possibilities. It motivates the audience to take action, reassuring them that they can achieve whatever they aspire to within the Cardano ecosystem.

Title: The inspiration
Designer: NAYEM, betreant@gmail.com, Treant (Forum Username)

Description:
My design comes with 4 parts and they are

  1. Cardano Logo

I believe the whole community and some of the community who even did a little contribution to Cardano but the whole actually believe Cardano by its logo that it will keep its values always to the peak so that it can greatly impact to blockchain ecosystem.

  1. Background

I prefer to say it’s. Contains Decentralization, Sustainability, Security, Inclusivity and Accessibility, and the Scalability Which are the Key Principles and Values of Cardano.

  1. Dots

I found that “Cardano is built on peer-reviewed research and formal verification methods to ensure high assurance in its code and protocol design” that’s why i add extra some of them and connected all of them like peer to peer.

  1. Connection

All the design. Has so many connections which also means bond of the core values.

That’s. All.

I MADE THE DESIGN WITH ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR WHICH CAN BE DELIVERED AS AI FILE FORMAT AND SVG FORMAT

THANKS

Title: Earth Cardano
Designer: Tomáš Griger (tomaso.griger@gmail.com)

Description:
Cardano is us, Cardano is everywhere. That´s how it is and that´s what I wanted to depict. We are all connected - let´s make a great sustainable things.

I made a pattern from a logomark and distributed it to all continents to show how Cardano is inclusive and decentralised - every dot counts. Blue Planet - our Earth - planet Cardano. Floating in a deep universe with flashes of Cardano´s fresh innovative secondary colors.

Disclaimer
The artwork is original and in vector. With adaptability in mind, I designed a single universal hero banner for all devices and also Light/Dark mode. I don´t know if you plan to upload a single banner and that´s it (like it is now with old one), or you plan to rebuild the code to make more variations of a hero banner to fit all breakpoits and modes smoothly.

Title: Ouroboros City

Designer: Josh Grimes

Description:
Science fiction brought me to Cardano. Most imagined futures are bleak, but the worlds that excite me, the ones I want to live in all feature decentralization. Some sort of innovation paves the way, and before those in power recognize what is happening, the population quietly takes back their freedom.

With this header I aimed to depict a hopeful future. The city is integrated with nature, and connected to other communities via the satellites on the horizon. The moons or satellites are a nod to Cardano’s logo, along with the circular pond. Finally the ring station in the distance represents the Ouroboros protocol.

Title: Abstract World

Designer: Kim Wahlman

I have created a design that focuses on the hero text – “Making the world Work Better For All.” The idea is to use graphics that somehow represent a world where everyone can benefit from technological innovations – like Cardano. The text is the most important element here; it is the message. The image’s sole purpose is to reinforce that message without being distracting. I aimed to create an image that is simple in its message yet strong in its graphic expression.
