All the builders that are quitting Cardano because they can’t get funding are missing the biggest opportunities of their lives.
In Less Than Two Months One Retired Electrician On a Fixed Income With No Funding Has Created:
- Pool Ranger, a Cardano staking management platform built on Plutus V3 smart contracts. This is now running perfectly on testnet.
- CIP-0187?, a simple protocol modification that aligns the interests of SPOs and delegators and also helps close the parameter space where multipools earn more than single pools.
- The SPO and Delegator Reward Analysis - Interactive Chart
- A Pool Switch Calculator
- A Webpage to View and Analyze All Pools
- Latest Epoch Reporting Data: To see which pools changed their fee, margin, or pledge since the last epoch.
- An Interactive Simulator to Evaluate CIP-187: Utilization Scaled Pledge Bonus
- The Multi CIP Simulator This simulator uses MRI image processing techniques that allow anyone to discover the parameter space where multipools can operate more profitably than a single pool and to compare CIP strategies for closing down these spaces.
The cost for all of this was:
- two months of really hard but satisfying work
- $500 in Claude Code ai tokens.
Go take a quick look at all this work and try to estimate what it would cost to have a professional developer do all this work. Off the top of my head, I estimate the cost would be about $100,000.
I did all this for $500 (200 times less) and that is not even the amazing part!
Any of you that have been in this forum for a while know that I am not that smart.
I hold the distinction of having failed the Plutus Pioneer Program 3 times.
I have been on the outside of the smart contract development world desperately trying to get in for about 8 years.
So what happened two months ago that opened all the doors for me?
It was Claude Code and it was the Mesh Agent Skills for AI Coding Assistants
But there was something else that made this possible.
I am a single individual not a company nor an organization.
I can work for the community I love knowing full well that I will never see a return.
A company can’t do that. A company might do something to help the community but it can only do so if the action also helps the company grow. This is a law of nature. If you are in a company or organization and you take any action that helps the community without also helping the company then you will find yourself quickly purged from the organization. This law has only one exception which we will cover later.
Right now the price of ADA is very low and the sovereign wealth fund that Charles asked for was never created. So Emurgo, the Cardano Foundation, and Intersect are in no position to hand out funds to development companies. And even if they were, these are organizations, not individuals, so they only help with funding if they can get something of value in return.
Now for the exception I mentioned above:
The other two members of the Pentad are IOG and the Midnight Foundation. These are actually individuals. These two companies are Charles Hoskinson himself. He can and does give funds from IOG for Cardano development and to other good causes knowing full well that he will never see a return. But Charles is in a bind as we see in this video below. Tap Tools has just tapped out. They are leaving the Cardano community because they can’t get funding. That’s what companies do. Charles explains, if he buys the company and takes over the work, then the community accuses him of opportunism and centralization. And Charles’ resources are spread pretty thin now too, so why would he step in to save Tap Tools when no one will appreciate that action.
The business model where companies look for funding in order to do development is dead.
And all the companies that execute on that business model are dead too.
Even when funds become available again, I estimate from the work listed above, that someone like me, who isn’t that smart, but can afford a few ai tokens can execute 100 times faster and 200 times cheaper than your typical company that is using all its resources to suck around for funding that isn’t coming.
My Pool Ranger project is about to get expensive. In order to bring it from testnet to mainnet, I will need a full security audit, a dedicated airgapped computer, and more ai tokens. But don’t think I am going to waste my time asking the Pentad for help. Rather I am going back to work as an electrician to get the funds. In the meantime, work will continue at the same pace.
Artificial Intelligence is here. Software companies are dead or dying.
Now it’s up to all of us individuals with love in our hearts for Cardano and desire to create a better future than what the central banks have in store for us.
Buy a few ai tokens and start building!
