Can't send from Daedalus using Ledger X hw device

Hi. I have Daedalus, up to date, and have Ledger X hw device connected to my wallet. I cannot Send ADA as I’m getting a “Daedalus cannot process this transaction because of blocked staking rewards. To unblock your rewards go to the Cardano Voting Power delegation tab and delegate your voting power.” So, when I go and delegate my voting power to a DRep section, I pick a DRep and then get another error, “Transaction Failed” I’m stuck in a loop. There’s no way forward for me. I’ve read what I can on Reddit and here but there’s no one fix or easy solution. Currently I am unable to move my ADA? Please help, any suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

You have to register your governance key to be able to claim your staking rewards. Im not sure if you are able to do that with Daedalus yet, if not you can simply restore your funds in a litewallet like Typhon or Eternl and delegate to a DRep (or vote abstain). After that you will be able to claim your staking rewards and submit your transaction.

Thank you Zyroxa. I appreciate your quick response. I’m scared as I cannot move any ADA out of that wallet (like to another wallet in Daedalus). Apologies for my basic questions, but is my only open to restore my Daedalus wallet in Typhon or Eternal? And, I’m unclear on your last sentence, “After that you will be able to claim your staking rewards and submit your transaction*.” Where would I claim my staking reward and submit my transaction specifically? Again, thx and I really need help. I’m stuck and this really isn’t Cardano-like user experiences.

So you can simply add a wallet on Typhon or Eterno, connect your Ledger with it and then you have access to your funds. You dont have to transfer funds for that.

No you can use any lite wallet that supports Cardano and is able to connect to tools like gov.tools. But Typhon and Eternl have a governance feature built in.

The wallet (software) doesnt really matter, its just a user interface. So you can use Daedalus, Typhon, Eternl or what wallet you want, it doesnt matter.

Super confusing. I’'m a normie. Very frustrated. I’m sure it’s a simple fix to you. Thx again for your help. So I Simply add a wallet to where ? my desktop, a browser extension? and if brower, which browser is most compatible? And, then do I create a new wallet? I assume yes. Then do I add/connect my ledger x to that new wallet?

No problem, il help you to get through

I do recommand to use Typhon Wallet and install the browser extension.

Yes. Chrome or Brave browser.

Exactly. Once you clicked on “add wallet” you can choose to connect with your Ledger. See the screenshot.

Thank you Zyroxa. I was able to transfer my account balance out of Daedalus and into Typhon. That was my main concern. I’m still not able to claim or move my staking rewards, which is only 353 ADA. I’m moving out of Daedalus and Ledger X, as this shouldn’t have been necessary. I’m in Cardano bc I believe in the tech and community. One was awesome today, you! Thank you for your help sir. I hope this issue gets resolved soon. This was a bit scary for me. Wishing you a great day. Thank again sir. David

ps…if anyone is reading this in search of a solution, I am happy to help via Telegram or call, etc. I would like to pay this forward…

Yes you now have to register your governance key. Either you delegate your ADA to a DRep or you vote “abstain”.

You can do that under “Governance”.

After that you will be able to claim your staking rewards.

Hi Zyroxa

Ive had funds locked up that I can’t send for weeks now and theres very little information about this, I try registering my voting power using Daedalus and every time the transaction fails, on both of my hardware wallets even tho my Ledger asks me to export the key.

Then I I tried following your advice using Typhon and no matter what I click on, abstain, or delegate or no confidence, when I say confirm, nothing happens.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Brian

Hey @aracid

So you were able to connect your Ledger hardware wallet with Typhon correct?

Did you check if you are running the most recent Ledger firmware and Cardano app on your Ledger device?

Also what browser are you using?

@Zyroxa Thanks for your assistance in this matter, your suggestion has resolved the issue. Cheers
