Catalyst Weekly #95 - Last Chance To Register To Vote - 3 days

Hello there, beautiful soul!

Happy New Year! Wishing everyone all the good omens and that you all are leading with your best foot forward! As we prepare for another trip around the sun, on behalf of the Project Catalyst team, we’re excited to see what lies ahead in 2024 for you, the community. Thank you for your continuous efforts to make this ecosystem better everyday, you are appreciated.

With the new year here - regular town hall live broadcasts are back and with that a lot of useful updates for you.

Did you know that there are now only 3 days remaining to (re)register to vote? This is it - by this day next week - the Voting Snapshot is over. Be sure to complete your registrations no later than mid-day UTC on January 15th - snapshot time is set for around 21:45 UTC. See more information about how to register in the latter part of the newsletter.

What’s the TLDR from the recent town hall? There were two great community presentations. One by Pritesh from Kaizen Crypto who closed out the very first Fund10 project with his Summit 2023 hoodie project. Check his presentation here.

We also listened to an inspiring story from Ed Rettig, who might just be the most senior person to ever propose and complete a proposal in Project Catalyst at a young 83 years old. Check out his inspiring story presentation here.

Finally, the team also touched on a call to action around Catalyst Working Groups in anticipation of a potential opportunity post Fund11 to further elevate and improve Catalyst. Listen to the overview via this segment and watch out for a blog post in the near future to learn more about how to participate.

What’s the latest? Let’s dive right in.

Last chance to register to vote

3 days remaining

Voter registration is underway. As always, feel free to bookmark the Catalyst Knowledge base via docs.projectcatalyst.io to keep an eye on the latest.

The voter registration section is linked here. The snapshot is expected to take place on January 15th at 21:45 UTC. Monitor when your favorite wallet is ready for registration and under what conditions via this page. If you have a valid voter registration that you used during Fund10 and still have access to that QR/PIN code, you don’t need to do anything extra for Fund11 - just await the snapshot. If you’ve lost access, we recommend re-registering.

What happens after the registration period is over?

Voting Period rolls in by the end of the month if everything goes according to plan. There will be a two week voting period with a target start date on January 25th and results in the later half of the month. Full tentative timeline below.

Community Review moderation underway

The first part of the Community Review concluded on Jan. 4th. Now, the moderation stage of F11 Community Review is underway. Emails with login details have been distributed to all eligible moderators as of yesterday and the work is underway.

:construction: The moderator effort is set to take place between Jan. 11th (yesterday) - Jan. 18th (11AM UTC). Once this is completed, the data will be shared shortly after it is processed and compiled.

The Catalyst team gave an in-depth overview about the moderation stage during this week’s town hall, but we also recommend reviewing complete information via GitBook pages here to learn more about what’s going on at the moment.

Voting is still expected to take place from January 25th until February 8th. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to ask your local Cardano networks to participate and register to vote. Voters are a fundamental piece of the decision-making process and are ultimately responsible for the fund allocation.

If you are uncertain about how voter registration works - please refer to this Catalyst Gitbook page for more references.
