Hello, I purchased Cardano on Coinbase. I then proceeded to stake ETH, SOL, and ADA. I then created a CB wallet to move off the exchange. ADA won’t allow me to unstake. I have read that you can still transfer even if it is staked. Can someone confirm this? Also, how do I unstake? Is there a waiting period? The option to unstake doesn’t show.
Second question: when I go into CB Wallet search up Cardano and choose receive to get my address, when I go back to CB Exchange and try to transfer, it keeps saying invalid address. Any suggestions on why I can’t transfer? Internet searching is not providing any answers.
Thanks!

Hello @Commandrkeen
I don’t think CB wallet supports Cardano network. It supports some wrapped and peg Ada from BNB and Base.
When moving Ada from and to Coinbase, system will check if you are transferring it to Cardano type address. If you give any address that doesn’t start with addr or Ddzff or Ae2 it won’t let you transfer. If you are giving address that looks like 0x… that is NOT Cardano network.
You will need to get a Cardano wallet like Etrnl, Yoroi or Lace to hold your Ada.
Also Kraken is better (personal opinion ). They transfer Ada in minutes, unlike Coinbase.

Thank you @Neo_Spank
Seems strange that the CB Exchange allows purchase but their wallet doesn’t support it.
Is it common to have multiple wallets to store various assets?
Assets are stored on networks and accessible with your seed phrase.
Wallets are just a convenient apps that have simple user interface. So, you can use as many or as few wallets as you like.
If you find an app that supports all the crypto you hold, then I guess you can get away with just one.
However, if you are an investor type of crypto holder you may want to used hardware wallets (HW), like Ledger or Trezor. Then you just use wallets that HW is compatible with.
We would love for you to download Yoroi or another Cardano wallet and staked natively in your own wallet.
What is the address you are trying to send to? It should start with addr
