Cardano Strengthens Presence in Argentina: Developer Workshop, Events, Government Talks, and Constitutional Workshop
Cardano’s presence in Argentina is growing significantly with several key events and initiatives taking place. The Cardano Foundation, the Community, Input Output Global (IOG), and Cardano Ambassadors are all playing vital roles in these developments, demonstrating a strong commitment to local engagement and the advancement of blockchain technology in this country.
ALBA (Ada Labs for Blockchain Applications) at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN) fosters blockchain education and innovation in Argentina by providing training and resources for aspiring developers. Recently, a Developer Workshop featuring the Aiken course by the IOG educational team, organized by Adasolar, equipped participants with skills to build on Cardano’s blockchain. The workshop culminated in a Graduation event attended by Charles Hoskinson. Check out the highlights from the Graduation Workshop.
The ADN (Argentina Digital Nation) event, organized by the LATAM Cardano Community and led by Cardano Ambassadors, showcased innovative blockchain developments. With over 400 attendees, including international guests, the event featured workshops, debate panels, networking opportunities, and presentations from over 25 renowned speakers. Government Talks and Constitutional Workshop, The Cardano Foundation met with government officials and congressmen to discuss the potential of blockchain technology and its applications in the country, as well as the details of the Constitutional Convention that will be held in Argentina at the end of the year.
Further, UAE Ambassador Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi met with Rogelio Frigerio, Governor of Entre Ríos Province, Argentina. The meeting was attended by Rafael Fraga, representative of The Cardano Foundation, and Charles Hoskinson, CEO of IOHK. Finally, the Constitutional Workshop in Argentina was the first community-driven workshop, part of a series of global events aimed at fostering community engagement and understanding of the Cardano Constitution. More on this event can be found here.

Cardano Foundation Introduces Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) Wallet Alpha Program
The Cardano Foundation is pleased to announce the Alpha Program for its newly developed Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) Wallet. This open source application is designed to provide users with a secure and private digital identity management solution, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Key Event Receipt Infrastructure (KERI) and Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs).

- Security and Privacy: Uses advanced cryptographic methods to ensure secure management of digital identities.
- Interoperability: Supports a wide range of identity standards, ensuring smooth integration with multiple ecosystems and frameworks.

Join your local Cardano Constitutional Workshop Now!
The Chang hard fork will shortly occur on Cardano, introducing the decentralized governance model described in CIP-1694. While the CIP is the technical description of the governance model, it also mentions the necessity for a Cardano Constitution to capture the “shared Cardano ethos in an immutable fashion.” This shared ethos must be captured by the global community and include the voices of us all. For that reason, Intersect has launched the global Cardano Constitutional Workshop series, which aims to host more than 50 global in-person workshops, ensuring that every voice in the Cardano community is heard and valued.
The first Constitutional Workshop, a full-day event, kicked off on 28 July 2024 in Berlin, followed by a workshop in Buenos Aires on 3 August 2024. These workshops feature solo reflection, paired discussions, and group debates. You can find a recap of the Berlin workshop in the Cardano Forum.
