TL;DR: We’re experiencing connection issues with Vespr wallet. Please use Nami, Eternl, Yoroi, or Lace instead until we resolve this.
What’s Happening
Users attempting to connect with Vespr wallet are receiving the error:
Wallet connection failed
[Browser Wallet] An error occured during enabled:{}
Technical Cause
We’ve identified the issue as a compatibility problem between our current MeshSDK implementation (v1.9.0-beta.87) and Vespr’s CIP-30 wallet API. Specifically:
The BrowserWallet.enable() method is returning an empty object instead of the proper wallet API interface
This appears to be related to either a case sensitivity mismatch in how Vespr exposes its window.cardano object, or a wallet initialization timing issue
Other wallets (Nami, Eternl, Yoroi, Lace) are unaffected and working perfectly
Workaround
For now, please use one of these fully-supported wallets:
Nami
Eternl
Yoroi
Lace
All functionality (authentication, article creation, likes, comments, bookmarks) works perfectly with these wallets.
What We’re Doing
Our team is actively investigating the issue and will:
Update to the latest stable MeshSDK version
Add explicit handling for Vespr’s specific implementation
Improve error logging to catch similar issues faster
We’ll update this thread once Vespr support is restored.
