Going through Stake pool course and failing

Hi ADA Community,

**** Disclaiming I’m not a DevOps pro and my experience is at the level of having setup some WordPress sites casually. I’m going through the tutorial more as a challenge/learning process and I’m also a Windows user :dizzy_face: ****

I setup the the Amazon Linux 2 AMI (HVM), SSD Volume Type and also got the PuTTY install/setup so I can connect to my server.

Note : I also installed WinSCP thinking that might come in handy, but haven’t seen any instructions on how to use it??

I’m going through the installing Cardano-node instructions and when comparing to the video things aren’t lining up. EDIT: Please note that this course has been archived. We moved this whole section to the new developer portal on: https://developers.cardano.org/docs/operate-a-stake-pool/

See image below where at this point the tutorial is showing a total of 40, while I have 12. I’ve run through the install steps again but same result. The tutorials are a little confusing for me because there are so many different options to use.

I kept running with the install instructions anyways (cabal install looking good), but when I got to the GHC used the ghcup tool install it seems to go well, but when I run the ghc --version command see see image below.

Wondering if anyone can point me to a full setup/process using AWS or possibly any input on where they think I may have gone wrong?

Ran through the remaining install steps… latest ls -all. Not sure how to tell if I’m on the right path?!

Thanks @STAY_Pool I’ll go through and take a look a deeper look at your documentation today. Is yours specific to AWS environment? Or agnostic?
