Voting has started in Catalyst Fund 7. ADA-holders across the world are deciding what projects they want to see funded, and which Fund 8 challenges will shape Catalyst for the next few months.
But there’s so much information out there, and so many voices trying to steer voters this way and that. Not very decentralised! So:

  • How do we make sure that voters – in Fund 7 and beyond – can get the information they need to make up their minds for themselves?
  • How do we ensure that voices from the margins are not drowned out by the very structure of the way we do things, and that everyone is heard?
  • How do we make sure that the Fund 7 vote is a process that helps the community grow, and makes us more decentralised, not less?

Governance Week (Mon 24th – Sat 29th Jan 2022) is a full week of workshops, discussions and activities around these questions, where the Catalyst community comes together to think about what distributed governance really means for all of us, as our community grows.
Come and join in.

To include as many Community Members as possible in Hosting, Creating or participating in this initiative, we will collectively coordinate across many “roles” Projects and Communities … theres a place for everyone to join this effort.

  • Provide open Community Calls to speak with the Community about Governance & Voting in Cardano & Project Catalyst ( Community Events, Voting Workshops, Podcasts, Fireside Chats, Round Tables etc )

  • Coordinate and align actions, building bridges between Communities

  • Increase the Voting Participation by Providing Guidance and Informations for Voting & Process ( Content Creation, Educational Resources, Articles, translations, reviews , Expert Ballots & Proposal Pick Lists ( Best to do with the Voter Tool ))

Governance Week Community Calendar!
Mon 24th – Sat 29th Jan 2022

The Catalyst community is coming together next week (Mon 24th to Sat 29th) to focus on decentralised governance. As Catalyst prepares for the Voltaire era of decentralisation, it’s time to talk about how we heal the wounds that we all carry from our various experiences of centralised, disempowering, silencing rule, and step into our shared power as a community.

Anyone in Catalyst can create an event, discussion, workshop, community call, podcast, Fireside Chat, pecha kucha, provocation, round table, educational resource, translation, “how to” voting workshop, review – everything! – to take place during this coming week.

How do you find out what’s going on, so you can come and support these amazing events?

This is where all the events will be collated. As the ideas come in, we’ll keep updating it – so keep checking back to see the updates, and come and join in, support each other’s events, and have a brilliant time!

By the way – if you have been thinking of putting an event together – there is still time! You bring the idea and the facilitator(s), and Catalyst Swarm will help you publicise it and help get people there.

Events can be open to everyone, or for specific groups or communities. Any language or many languages. Any length, 5 minutes or 5 hours. Big or small – a discussion for 3 people or a mass event for 200, it’s up to you.

We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who doesn’t usually “raise their voice” in Catalyst very much. This space is for you.
