Hello Everyone, using our operating profit from our blocks #2 and #3, we were able to give more back to local communities. Thank you to anyone staking with our pool ANEW.
We keep on using the same approach:
- 40% through donations to charities and non-for-profit organisations
- 20% through loans to micro loans through Kiva https://www.kiva.org/
Today we have donated US$250 to CAMFED (https://camfed.org). This organisation does an amazing job in educating girls in Africa, aiming to help 5 million girls in 5 years. Please check them out.
We have just contributed to 3 loans through Kiva. Our contribution is US$50 per loan, and we have selected them on the basis to of being requested by African women trying to run their businesses:
- Clara from Mozambique - to acquire feed, chicks, sawdust and vaccines to raise chickens
- Florence from Liberia - to purchase ingredients to prepare rice kala
- Lestidia from Uganda - to buy more bananas to increase her inventory
At the same time, we have also donated US$22.50 to Kiva to offset the administrative cost of those loans.
