Hey @fernand69584745. I sent away over 10k ADA last week from a youtube scam. No where near your amount, but have that same exact feeling in the pit of my stomach of how stupid I could be also because of the price shooting up. I know nothing can improve that feeling aside from time and I just want you to know that you are not the only one. Don’t beat yourself up over something like this.
I’m with you fernand69584745, I lost close to what you did in the same YouTube scam under similar conditions during a hectic day as well. As much as it burns losing that amount of money the lesson learned will be worth more in the long run, as at least for me impossible to forget. As others have said it’s time to lick our wounds, turn the page, regroup and charge the batteries to come back with a vengeance. Never Ever Give Up and F*** the scammers!
Did u guys saw the video from CH? Maybe it’s a good ideea that all this people who lost the money because of youtube scam… to take actions against youtube…
Dude, I am so sorry to hear this. I too, almost got scammed, from your description, by the exact same YouTube video. Its very cleverly done and easy to be fooled. The only thing that saved me was that the bank refused transactions to buy more ADA. Feel for you bro’
Couldn’t agree more.
You lot must have in consideration that we are talking about of 220k ADA at a 2.62$, but it will get to 3/4/5/10, and so on, that is, it will be ammounting in value and for sure makes sense to battle YT about it.
cheers
HI guys,
lost 13k to the YouTube video that was LIVE called A.D.A hosted by Charles Hoskinson . I went to [Link removed by @Zyroxa] to transfer ada to get it doubled so the price can reach 100$ . I was so stupid. We should collectively sue youtube/coinbase by not getting any warning banning scammed addresses and you tube for letting them so easily making them creating those scams so trustworthy.
Let’s do something togheter. There has to be a way to retrieve all those ada!
My god ! This motherfuckers are going down for all the money they stole . I’m not afraid Russians. We get a group, establish company people who got scammed and we sue coinbase or whatever the platform money was sended from for not blocking this addresses and no warnings and YouTube for making it so easy for them to scamm!
Jesus Christ. Why would you do that? There’s no way this is real.
Ah, I see you have a G Wagon, so you’re probably rich as hell anyway. I mean, that would explain how you could just casually send 220k ADA to another address like that without giving it some thought. It’s either that or you’re extremely dumb.
Hello @fernand69584745 @AR261
Sorry to hear about your loss, I had a similar situation not long ago with XLM, my recommendation would. be to report to the IC3 (FBI) and seek for legal assistance as soon as possible.
I managed to recover most of the funds through some crypto lawyers, I used Crypto Legal (info@cryptolegal.uk), but I checked several firms, you can also try contacting Silver Miller Law or Roche Fredman in the US.
Nowadays exchanges need to comply with the police and law enforcement so chances are not that bad, don’t give up and try to recover your funds.
Hoping for the best.
im fairly new to this - and you are 100% right - this is a lifetime lesson learned the hard way that will be engraved from now on till i die in any aspect of my life - The blockchain technology is still very early and we are still far away from mass adoption. My fear is that the big majority would not get into crypto because of scams and tech complexity and can delay that mass adoption.
I’m getting through this little by little, is not fun to see ADA reaching all ATH knowing I gave it all away. Now if i want to comeback and invest the same amount, would probably get a third of the coins i had.
Thanks for your words and I’m continue fighting like every one else this scums - blockchain technology is spectacular and we are lucky to be living in this current times.
Best,
F
We will get thru it. We have our families and people to look after and that’s what keeps me going. The best way to get over this is get back on out feet and spread the word, help more people to be scammed and look forward. The feeling is pretty shitty but it will, at some point , hopefully , be perceived as something learned from the past that didn’t hurt much the future of my kids.
Thanks for your kinds works.
Im with you Fuming1 - there is no much we can do but keep on fighting and spread the awareness.
Keep up my friend !
F.
Right ?! the hype, ADA going up, smart contracts coming in … you see Charles on YouTube … pretty convincing man for those who are fairly new to the blockchain technology. Thanks god your “centralized” bank save you from that mistake. My decentralized wallet didn’t . I do believe the crypto world need a bit of regulation on safety - if you send the money to the wrong address - you are fuck - if you get hacked - you get fucked - as of now feels like " no man’s land "
i think in the near future a crypto task force should be formed and wallets companies, and exchanges need to have to power to frozen funds on fraudulent addresses - is think that is paramount if we are shooting for mass adoption of this technology.
it could be a class action suit very hard to pull and time consuming - i wish it could be a way of doing something. As of now, i can only see a disadvantage of this decentralized system, if you get hacked or send the money to a fraudulent address , you are done. It should be better than that. If everything is trackable , then funds could be frozen from fraudulent addresses. Blockchain technology is trying to make a better world for us, giving power to us. Well then , should also have the power to fight crime and scammers by not letting them get away. Frozen fund should be at the click of a button kind of reach after proving fraud was committed. A crypto security task force is needed
it is 100% real
Thanks navy seal for your suggestion - without getting into actual numbers , just percentage wise, after you paid all the parts involved in the recovery of the money, how much percentage of the initial amount scammed was recovered it ?
Thanks
i see that picture and i get a punch in my stomach kinda feeling … hugggghhhhh
Hello Fernand,
For me it took around 2 months to recover around 60% of the funds, the scammers move the funds to different exchanges so part of the funds become quite difficult to recover from.
Nevertheless the lawyers did an amazing job, I wasn’t expecting to recover that much tbh, still a big loss of money but better than nothing, not sure if I’d ever recover the remaining 40% but lesson learnt…the hard way…
thanks for your reply and for giving my a bit of hope - did you use a law firm that is based on the UK - it is because you reside there or because they were the best for the job. I’m in the United States so i dont know how that works. 60% is pretty awesome actually
