Ministry Says 5 Million Students Will Receive A Blockchain-Based ID This Year

Addis Ababa, November 2, 2021 (FBC) – The Ministry of Education announced that 5 Million students and 750,000 teachers across the country will receive blockchain-based ID till the end of the current academic year.

The new ID will help document students’ performance and ensure transparent grading system and academic history.

Education Minister, Birhanu Nega has signed MoU with Manager of Input Output HK Limited (IOHK), Charles Hoskinson for the issuance of the digital ID.

According to the agreement, 1 Million Students will receive the blockchain-based ID during the first phase of the issuance, the Education Minister said.

Professor Birhanu stated that the issuance of the ID is part of the undergoing efforts to back the education sector with digital system.

Once records such as grades and diplomas are entered by a trusted government authority, they will be unchangeable and forever accessible.

Charles Hoskinson, Manager of IOHK, said his team is committed to complete issuance of the ID as per schedule in accordance with the agreement.

Hello, can we consider that these 5 millions ADA used for this project burned? since they won’t be on circulation for trade which is lead in less ADA supply ?
can we consider that if each big project using per exemple 2 billions ADA will lead the same results as if the ADA are burned ?
what i mean is if each project lock some ADA for they own use , this mean there will be less ADA in circulation right ?
