As announced in the Forum post and Meetup, the DRep Cardano Training - DRep Pioneer Program - Course #2 took place on July 6 and 7, 2024, with 12 passionate Vietnamese Cardano enthusiasts participating.
We covered topics such as CIP-1694, Cardano’s decentralized governance design, the role of DReps, the DRep Code of Conduct, reward mechanisms, and DRep ID generation practices. All members actively engaged in discussions and enthusiastically debated various topics.
The training session began with participant self-introductions and a puzzle minigame between teams. This engaging activity energized everyone and set the stage for the knowledge-rich lessons ahead.
Together, we took a deeper look at CIP-1694. Many questions were raised about the voting mechanism, including the delegation of voting rights to DReps, the option to abstain, no-confidence motions, deposits, and the timing of issuance after voting results.
We discussed and practiced various scenarios as DReps, focusing on how to explain the role and responsibilities of a DRep to ADA holders in a simple and understandable manner. Through this exercise, nearly all participants gained a clear understanding of how to help ADA holders better comprehend the work of DReps and build trust when delegating voting rights to them.
We had lively and effective group discussions using the Miro Board, with the DRep reward mechanism being the most hotly debated topic. Many opinions focused on ways to incentivize and motivate DReps through rewards.
Training Course #2 concluded with many positive reviews from participants, who felt they had gained a wealth of useful knowledge.
Despite having fewer participants than Course #1, everyone was dedicated to learning about DRep, asking numerous questions, and contributing valuable insights.
Thank you to Intersect and Cardano for giving us the opportunity to deepen our understanding of DRep and better prepare for our upcoming mission.
