The Cardano Foundation's Brief Statement on Participation in the Shelley Incentivized Testnet

Dear Cardano Community,

Ahead of the upcoming Shelley Incentivized Testnet, we have received a number of questions about the Cardano Foundation’s position: whether we are going to participate in it or if we are planning to run any stake pools.

The Cardano Foundation, hereby, wishes to clarify its position on the participation in the upcoming Shelley Incentivized Testnet:

The Cardano Foundation will not run any stake pools during the incentivized testnet. It will, however, delegate to stake pools being run by the community and ecosystem. The Foundation aims to manage its delegation preferences by allocating to pools to achieve optimal rewards and to support the best-run pools in the community. This is in line with promoting optimal decentralization and stability of the network. The Cardano Foundation may change and adjust its delegation preferences over time to reach this objective.

We hope this answers some of the questions. If you have any further comments or feedback, please feel free to reply or reach out to us.

Thank you for your kind and continued support as always,

The Cardano Community Management Team

This is very good news! Please show some love (by delegating stake) to those community members that have been donating time on the “Cardano Shelley Testnet & StakePool Best Practice Workgroup”. We have some great community members that give an enormous amount of time to help community members. Supporting the best-run community pools is an awesome idea!
