Will ADA Whales Ever Give Up Their Power?

whats this than? a fork threat if people dont sell their ada as he wants? I would love to hear an opinion from @tom.kelly - Can we talk about forking cardano on this forum?

We need to fork his fork  and will call it - the real fake fork

also forking it is going to be nearly impossible…

Who will develop the project, IOHK wont be forking anything… its going to be complicated project technological, partnerships, africa etc etc… all of this is being build by Charles and IOHK… Who cares if someone forks the code… If that means we got less commies, then I am more than fine with it, they will come running back as always…

and how will they get funding for someone to maintain the project… some sarcasm here lol…

Outside looking in.
I have been considering investing in ADA, but after reading some of this thread I’m putting it on hold. Has Charles or any other of the team responded as yet? Please post the link. I doubt that whales will cut their own throats, but the concentration is an issue that should be addressed IMO – even if it’s done over a long (10yr) period). That would put my mind at rest. Talk of ‘Fork’ does not inspire confidence.

Its already put to rest, there is no need to put anything to rest if you understand Austrian economics, how humans operate, and are a libertarian at heart.

As you can see friends… the FUD is working ! @admins do something about fud-ers attacking the cardano forum

I know, because most people are socialist and keynes… Because it is more simple to understand, even though its false… It seems more intuitive, thats why it will always have the most followers in this day and age… We cant do anything about this… Most people just follow others, not understanding either side, but picking points from their influencers, and jumping on the side with the most popular or what seems most intuitive.

To fork and redistribute the ada from whales, he will have to start the protocol from epoch 1-
How will be the 26 bil ada distributed to people?
looks like he wants to fork it, so he is the only whale in town

if you understand Austrian economics

I do not know much about Austrian economics, but I do know that any successful organization needs strong leadership. So I ask again: “Has Charles or any other of the team responded as yet? Please post the link.”
This thread is 29 days old - surely someone in authority gave an opinion?

to what? to a fake story? why should he? he runs an engineering company. not a bank or a country. You people need to get your facts straight

What would you feel most comfortable owning shares in?

in a company where the CEO owns 30% of the shares, or one where the CEO owns 5% or nothing? Ask yourself why… If you understand the full complications of this answer, that also provides the answer to why Whales are no threat.

There are already long discussions about this in @ADALove threads, where I go into more depth… So ill leave it at that…

…get your facts straight

Hmmm. That was enlightening.

@adafans_io Again, you have deliberately taken my words out of context and again you have tried to censor people with sincere concerns and opinions. You are so worried about communism, but you have the censorship instincts of Stalin.

@jb455 I appreciate your respect for other opinions, even though I know you obviously don’t agree with me. To your comment above, this is the second time you’ve mentioned this about Charles; so, it warrants a brief comment:

I was a staunch libertarian my entire life until I wrote one of my books and realized that Libertarianism has no meaningful response to a world in which artificial intelligence is gobbling up virtually every human job. Libertarianism has no meaningful response to a world in which governments reward gigantic transnational corporations with de facto monopolies in exchange for cooperation in their rapidly expanding surveillance state. In this real world (not the utopia of zero government intervention), humans and small- to medium-sized companies have virtually no chance to compete against A.I. and gigantic corporations in the purely laissez-faire economic system that libertarians desire.

I understand very well that this violates the ideological purity of Libertarianism and I understand your position. I simply don’t agree that a cryptocurrency launched on a hyper-concentrated distribution brings us any closer to escaping the nightmare that exists in the fiat world. I’ve read all your other comments about 80/20, pareto, etc. I’m aware of all those principles, but they do not fundamentally address the points I’ve made above and throughout my other threads.

We will never agree on the deeper philosophical theories because we see the world through completely different lenses; so, I won’t waste anybody’s time here trying to debate the theories. I just thank you for being civil and thoughtful in most of your comments so far.

…CEO owns 30% of the shares… No problem with that… My problem is that AFAIK no-one in authority has stepped in and calmed this thread down with a measured response/explanation. In 2016 I turned my back on r/btc r/bitcoin for the same reason. Too old for bickering. Wastes time and effort. Thought I would diversify here, but it looks like ADA needs a bit more time. Good luck.

this is FAKE!

looks like there is no admin here or they dont care that the Cardano forum is used by ada haters to spread FUD and promote forking

all modern liars hide behind “freedom of speech” but it comes with some minimal obligations - like don’t spread fud or lies

LMAO :sweat_smile::sweat_smile::sweat_smile::sweat_smile::sweat_smile:
now i understand better what kind of dude you are / can I read your book pls? ill pay in ada if you want to

AFAIK, from one of the IOHK videos, they have addressed the issue and are conducting some research on it. I think it was in the Philip Kant’s video - not sure - where Philip mentioned some possibility of readjusting the stakes, he just mentioned it very briefly and I could misunderstand him. So, handle it as if it was not true.

OK! No true
