Yoroi wallet: Privacy

Hi all,

In Yoroi wallet at receiving>base>external there is the address generated to use for deposit Ada to the wallet. And it says that random address are generated to “protect” my privacy. But, If I take those used address and check using cardanoscan, I can see my balance, how much staked, etc…the same happen if I use a new generated address. So how this tool actually protects my privacy?

At the beginning of the Shelley era, each address became connected to a single staking address so this does no longer applly. Not sure why the message is still in the UI, maybe at some point in the protocol evolution this topic will be revisited again.
